Have you eperience Scuba Diving?

Well lately, my friends planning to go out of town enjoy summer and go for scuba diving. the thing is.. all of us are first timers i myself loves beach so much but im afraid of scuba since that would be underwater. and mostly the sharks!! LOL have you experience scuba diving?if so, the first time you've tried it how did you prepare for yourself? is it necessary that we need to learning swimming thing?
