spams!!

You all are aware of Spams as unsolicited junk mails. But still you see lot of spams in your inbox daily. Can anybody tell me when did this spam came to light.. what is the use of spams.. and who usually send spams.. how spams can prove fatal to computers.. friends,share your views on how you see spam as. Thank you.

Aplaza did an excellent remark on what a spam is and what to do with it. I would just like to add the effects on your computer. If your using a pop mail and an email client like outlook, if you wont delete it you'll be running out of disk space plus harboring possible malwares attached to it. So its a good habit to filter your mail and securely delete spam mail.

Thanks ferdzNK. I really agree with you there. Actually it's so automatic with me to get rid of them that I didn't think to mention it. So thanks for the help!
Even with pc's being sold with bigger and bigger memories it's still important to make sure you get rid of all the things that shouldn't be on there in the first place.
