I like to swim in the swimming pool as it is a safe place for my husband, myself and the children to swim in.
When at the sea side the children do like to go in the sea, but because you can not see hte bottom I don't like them to go out too far in case they get into danger.
We have never swam in a lake and i wouldn't want my children to swim in a lake as again you can not see the bottom and you never know if there any weeds that could get caught around the legs and pull the children under the water.
The pool is the best place for my children to swim as I can keep a good eye on them.

Well i have never swim on the sea or lake.
Play with the water on the beach : Yes
Swim on the sea : No
The thing is, the wave is massive, and i didn't think i could swim that good.
So i just go to the pool every week, safe enough, but crowded some time. Need private pool, but not have enough money yet :)

I'm afraid I don't like to swim. I've haven't even been anywhere near a swimming pool in seven years. I like the sensation of being in water, but besides that I have no desire to put on a bathing suit and make like a fish.
I do however like to be around water. Perhaps it's the photographer in me, but I love lakes. They're just so beautiful.

I prefer the pool or the beach. I don't like swimming in ponds or rivers because of snakes. And the fact that you can't see in the water because it's so dark.

Hello! I like the ocean for vacation But I really enjoy the pool. My mother in law has a 12 ft in ground pool with a pool house and we enjoy it all summer long we cookout and have family gatherings as well!

Well to be honest i have not yet learned to swim... to my shame, but i am willing to try this summer. I am going to the see in Greece. Well i think i would choose sea water as a first because it is healthier on a number of reasons. Apart from the Halogen it is also very relaxing to hear the sea waves splashing on the shore, it is calming. Also related to the sun, you could cover yourself on the danger hours (interval 11, 12- till 16:30-17:00)so you don't suffer from sunburns. Pools are nice, but they don't compare (at least on my opinion as a no swimmer) with the sea, but are a good, cheap alternative to it. About lakes ? Well i can't really say, i never entered a lake's water. I only visited one once on the end of a summer back when i was less than 13 years old.
In short, i guess i prefer the sea.
Take care,
Alex.

For me it will always be a lake. My grandparents have a cabin out on a lake, and I basically spent all the summers of my youth there. I enjoy a bit of a smaller lake, and one that doesn't allow motor boats. I know this seems like it would take away fun for some, but I really enjoy being in the peace and quite of the woods. Also a smaller lake will warm to a decent temperature, so I am not always freezing and hesitant to get in the water!

Of course I would rather choose to swim at the pool than beach. Since I've learned the proper way of strokes in swimming it is hard for me to make a back stroke style at the sea because of the waves. But waves are exciting part to swim as leisure. If I don't want to swim and just to play on the water of course I have to choose the sea.

Swimming is one of my favorite exercises. When younger I used to go swimming together with my friends weekly. There was a swimming pool in the foot hill which was about 8 km away from my house. I liked to swim the in the crystal clear cold water in the pool which was fed with the spring water from the hill. This water is natural and very much better than that in the pools of other swimming clubs which are normally filled with chlorinated tap water. Once in a while during the hot sunny day I always would like to have a dip in the cool fresh water in the pool at the foot hill to relax myself. As in a case of swimming in sea I dare not venture further away from the beach as I am scared of storms and sharks lol...

I prefer the pool because it is clean. I like to swim in the sea if the beach is crystal clear with fishes swimming along with you. I don't like to swim in the lake because I feel that it is dirty.

Well for me, I like any body of water that I can get into. If I had my choice it would be the ocean, but it is too far to go, so the lake is second choice to me.I just love the beach, it is very peaceful and relaxing to me. Most of the time I just settle for the pool in my back yard.

I also like to swim...well,, here are reasons why I like to swim in the:
sea: I get to float easily, I get to play with sand, I get to go snorkeling and see pretty fishes and corals...and it's so natural
pool: It's clean, i get to swim in laps, i can have fun pool games
lake: the water is cool, it's not so hot, there are trees around it
