Hey everyone. I was just thinking of someways to be a bit "greener" I thought I would share a few, and ask for your help to generate and share some more ideas
Unplug your cell phone charger when you aren't charging your cell phone
Same goes for microwaves, and coffee pots that don't have clocks. Turn off your tv, dvd, etc players don't just leave them on standby mode.
But a few cloth grocery bags. Take them whenever you go grocery shopping.
My favorite is shower with your spouse!

How about buying a filter for your home faucet instead of using all those plastic water bottles? Stop using styrofoam cups for your coffee. There are also new light bulbs to try.

If you use bars of soap then save up the leftover bits, you'd otherwise throw out, in one of those platic jars with a pump on it. After a while you'll have enough to make your own fluid soap. Just add warm water and shake the bottle for a while.
Another sudsy tip is to use half the recommended amount of washing powder to launder your clothes. I worked at a company that specialised in detergents and stuff like that and a co-worker told me it was a proven fact that using half of what was mentioned on the box/bottle would get your clothes just as clean.
I once worked at an office that had a sign in the bathroom that they used the collected rain water for flushing in an attempt to be "green".
Maybe best not to think about it but flushing a toilet with drinking water really is a waste. On the other hand just think of the cost of setting up rain collectors all over and connecting them to all the toilets. Pfew getting tired just thinking about that!
