Putting Tags

Friends, Here comes one doubt that is after responding to a discussion started by one of the members, after clicking "post response" there comes a window showing "add some tags". Is is it necessary that we must add some tags or if so what purpose will it serve? And even if we do not add any tag to our response, while seeing it, we can see several tags added to our response. Then what is the need of adding tags by us?

adding tags is just mandatory. it's up to you if you wanna add some tags or not. adding tags would just help you get more responders on that certain discussion. but for me, i usually skip it since it annoys me most of the time

I think adding tags in mylot is not necessary as there is skip option available.
Adding tags to your discussion helps you to fetch more discussions to response.
You can get similar discussion related to the tag.So that you can respond more discussion.

hey man well if you respond to some discussion which is new or on which the discussioner has given only two tags . then you will see that there will be just that two tags on the discussion . well its not nesseary to add tags . but its good to find discussion by the help of tags.

well friend ...yes i feel that one must put tags as it is quite helpful for the readers.But it is the choice of the response sender whether to put it or not as this is not a compulsion.I think dear friend you should put on a tag.
