Which do you like better, Dr. Who or Torchwood?

At first, I thought I'd like Torchwood better than Dr. Who, but it's not turning out that way. Torchwood has more adult type situations and lots of bad language. I'm not opposed to either, but I do have a little kid that watches TV with me. So, I can't afford to have that kind of language on TV while she's in the room. If she's not in the room, then sure I'll watch Torchwood. She likes watching Dr. Who, so we watch that together (selected episodes). I like the new Dr. Who better than the original and better than Torchwood, because he's a space traveler. And, you never know what you'll find. It's like a PG rated version of that show Lexx (Sci-fi channel, Netflix) With Torchwood, they just stay in one place. And, even though I like the show, I think they could definitely develop the plot lines a lot more. I liked Captain Jack (Torchwood) when he was on Doctor Who, but for some reason he's way more somber in the Torchwood show. Maybe that's because of his death experience. That could sober anyone up. I've only seen the first two seasons of Doctor Who and the first season of Torchwood on DVD, so maybe they've improved both shows since then. Which show is your favorite?
