It is sunny and 62, so it isn't too bad..It it was colder, I would just throw on more clothes and brave it out..But since you had surgery, the more comfortable you are the better, so if I was in your shoes, you can believe I too would have the heat on..

It has been absolutely freezing here (for this time of year.) We've just had our Victoria Day holiday weekend, and many with cottages returned early because of the cold. It was also rainy. Our heat turned on automatically this morning, and I'd make sure it was on anyway. I have major knee problems (as I think you know), and extreme cold and dampness, really makes them act up all the more. I wonder what type of summer we're going to end up with? I don't like it to be too humid too soon, but this is way colder than normal. The weather is so messed up these days.

I hate humidity too, but don't want to see it too cold, as that's just not normal. If it is, it'll really mess up people's vacations, and for those with pools. On the other hand, if it stays just right, I'll save a lot on hydro costs, as there'll be no need of the AC.

Mellisa flower is good. You can also drink "bedtime tea".
I buy bedtime tea in Traders Joe, but maybe other places have it too.
Any tea with honey and lemon will do similar work.
Sounds of nature played in the background are very helpful.
Make sure you have warm PJ and warm cover.
And yes, you have to take pain pills.
Advil PM (in capsules)can reduce pain and give you nice night sleep. It is over the counter medication.

We were down in the high 30's last night as well. The high temp Monday was only 48 and windy and raining on and off all day. YUCK!! My heat was kicking last night. Mostly for dad. My wife and I can do without unles it hits freezing or lower. Dad needs it warm.

Right now the sun is shining outside but it's cold too. We had a touch of frost last night, hard to believe it's almost June isn't it. I guess I will have to dig out the winter clothes again rather than put the heating on.

It looked like it was going to rain for the whole morning today in here, then it got really nice and sunny for a few hours just to get back at the " I think I"m going to rain" thing later:):):)
But it's not really cold at all.
Since it is making your pain worst, I hope the weather warms up nicely for you tomorrow :)
Hugs

Yup Terry...since you're near my neck of the woods, it's been cold, damp and rainy here for the past few days as well..and my goodness the landlord is actually having the heat on her in the apt. building as well. The past few days when I've been out I've actually had to wear my light winter jacket..sheesh The kitties must have been cold as they've been snuggling up on my bed to sleep with me more than usual. Sorry to here the cold is making your pain worse though..my sinuses have been lousy reacting to this weather. Today was actually one of those days I just wanted to crawl back into bed and do nothing

I was just complaining about this same thing Terry! I live in the same place that you do so I feel your pain!
I had a week of beautiful South Carolina warmth and came back to this!
It is ridiculous that it is almost June and we have to run the heat still! I keep asking everyone; "When does this state finally warm up?!"
I hope soon! We are going to get two of my older kids from Mississippi this weekend and they are going to hate being cooped up in the house if it is still cold and rainy. They are swimming already at their dad's house. I am going to have them bring a couple of sets of winter clothes!

The weather has been crazy. We have been known to have the heat and air on in the same day.It can be frustrating. So much work just to be comfortable. We don't have the heat on now. But it wouldn't surprise me if we needed to later.

It was freezing here the other nite, I had to turn my heat on as well, just for the nite though. I was mad, it is the middle of May for Pete sake. Plus how will I ever catch up on the heat bills if I keep having to turn it on. Looks like we get one week of spring this year and then bamm, it will be summer.
But I have to admitt the last 2 days here have been lovely , still chilly at night, but I closed up around 7pm last nite. Didn't have to turn the heat on again yippy! It is around low 60's here today.

Hope your cats are keeping you warm! Personally I cope much better in the colder climates than the hot ones, last week we had a mini heatwave here in the UK and I couldn't bear it, I get moody, irritable and have trouble functioning it knocks me out, tires me and exhausts me and I sweat a lot which doesn't help, I find it far easier to warm up than cool down, this week the weather has gone the other way and it's bliss! I am far more alert, happier and relaxed when the temperature is colder, I am heat sensitive, I also burn easily too. Keep warm my friend xxx

That's not cold for me. I have my bedroom window open for the last few weeks, shutting it once cause the rain was blowing in. I love this weather! My heat has been turned off since beginning of April and my fireplace is now in hibernation till late fall when I'll be using it again.

It is colder here than there but we are Scottish and used to it! lol I do know a few who have had their heating on the last few days but I think I would melt if I did put mine on! It is very true that when you are in pain or not feeling too well your bodies thermostat goes a bit wonky! lol xxxx

im in new england.. we have two seasons here, winter and the 4th of july. the heat is always left on, because even mid summer when the days are upper 80`s.. the temps drop to 40`s or even lower when the sun dissapears for the day. sometimes we get lucky and have a balmy 50-60ish night.. but not often. thermostats are set to kick in the furnace when the temp drops to 65 inside, so it only runs when it gets cold anyway.
