My mom's cat Cherub ran off two days after the ambulance came to get my mom and we've looked for him to no avail. We didn't tell my mom out of fear it would set her back again in her healing. He came home this morning!! YIPPEEEE!! He's a wee bit skinny but we'll get him fattened up once again in no time! Now we can tell mom all about it and I'm sure she'll be glad we didn't tell her till now. She loves this cat for a number of reasons besides that he's a loving and sweet animal not to mention BEAUTIFUL... oh gosh he's some kind of handsome!! lol Oh gosh I'm so happy!! He's back home!! AWESOME!!!!

HURRAH!! What a gorgeous cat!! I love Siameses - even if they're only part. I am so happy he'll be there when she gets home. I wish my Tinker had come home like Cherub did. Tinker was a Siamese mix. He ran away about a week after I moved away with my son. He'd have gone with me except my stepdaughter took him so I couldn't and brought him back the day after I left. My now-ex said that when he came back, he went through the house looking for me and Paul, meowing and looking. A week later, he was gone. I'll post his pic, with my son, in my profile. I loved that cat!!

Oh what a sad story!! Please never ever lose hope!! You just might get him back still, just got to keep faith!! If you do get him back, please keep him inside your house for at least 10 days so he'll learn that is his new home and won't run away again. Bless his heart!! Thank you for your kind words on Cherub. Yes he is a beauty!! Mom has another one that is mixed and is considered a Rag Doll type and she named her Holly Dolly. She's a real charmer too! I have two of my own, a seal point and a blue point and both are so loving and very vocal!!

It's been 15 years now, and he was 6 when he disappeared. He's gone. I can only hope he befriended someone along the way and was well-treated.

I used to have a Seal Point pedigree. Mom called him Simple Simon. I called him Taiger. When I moved away, she kept him because he just adored my mom. He lived until he was 18. I now have two cats, a Russian Blue and a calico mix whose mother was a Siamese mix (she's huge!). Shady, the blue, is 22 and Chloe is 8.

Do you think it's possible that Cherub knows something we don't? Like that maybe your mom will be home soon herself? Miracles happen if you believe.

Very pleased that the cat came back. I know you are too. To lose a pet while a loved one is in a life threatening situation is just almost too much to bear. Cuddle that Cherub kitty for all of us.

You've got that right GardenGerty. It was so disheartening to hear that he was gone. I prayed for his return especially if mom made it and she did and he returned!! What a relief!! When I saw him, I petted him over good!! to let him know how much he's loved and very missed!! lol

That is wonderful news hun. Cats can be amazingly sensitive sometimes, I guess he was upset and ran off but it's great to know he is back again and with his family

Thank you!! Yes they're very sensitive little creatures and very loving too. We think that he either was spooked by the ambulance or chased off by a wild animal or was locked in someones garage or shed. I have a cat who was locked in our next door neighbors garage for a few days till they heard him crying and opened the door to let him out. Anything's possible but we're so elated that he's back!! Yippeeeeee!!

Yes he's full blooded siamese, he's the linx type... spelling on that one. He's as sweet as he is gorgeous. He's one big ole teddy bear and he was like that earlier when I went to see dad to look for my mom's wallet and purse, found the wallet but not the purse.... and Cherub was so loving and sweet to me and he even talked to me a little bit. I've loved that cat since mom got him and I always will. Gosh I'm so glad he's back!! Thanks for your kind words!! ((((hugs))))

LOL I did I did!! LOL I went to dad's to help him find mom's wallet and purse and found the wallet but not the purse... and when I saw Cherub, I loved all over him like there was no tomorrow!! lol He was so sweet and loving and purred his heart out! I'm so excited that he came home!! I can't wait for mom to be well enough to tell her. For now I'll wait because I'm afraid it may be too much.

He really is a handsome fellow. I'm glad he's come back. It's not all that unusual for a cat to disappear for a while when there is sickness in a house. My parents cat ran away when my dad got sick and came back after dad passed away. I was told at the time that that is a common occurance.

Oh he's a handsome big guy that's for sure!! lol He has such gorgeous light blue eyes. Darn picture doesn't show it but he does have beautiful eyes. Strange how cats do that disappearing act but you know, they have more sense than most of us give them credit for. They know something isn't right, they may not be able to tell exactly what it is or maybe they do know what it is and either can't handle it or just need the time to get away for a little while to get their thoughts together and return. I would love to know the reason why they run off and come back. Nonetheless, it's great to have him back home again!! Thanks for your kind words!!

What wonderful news cats honey! Cherub probably got upset and spooked by your mum being away and everyone being in and out and upset. I am so glad that she has returned and you didn't have to upset your Mum by telling her about it! Hugs xxxx

Oh gosh, had mom known, she'd have been torn to pieces!! She absolutely adores this cat as well as her other cats but especially this one and the rag doll siamese mix Holly Dolly. If anything happens to those two, she'll just fall apart. I'm going to wait to tell her about it because it just might upset her more since she can't come home. Thanks mummymo for your kind words!!

It was better you didnt tell he about the kitty disappearing she would have been deveastated. Glad you can tell her the story now since it has a happy ending.

He probably did!! lol We thought he'd ran into a wild animal of sorts because it's been known to happen according to their neighbors. They just moved there almost a year ago and are learning all these things. Cherub is so happy to be home that he just loved all over me and of course I loved him back and he talked to me and I talked to him... it was like having a conversation except neither one of us knew what the other was saying! LOL But it was all in the show of love for each other and we both knew it.

I'm glad that your cat is back. It's an awful feeling when your pet ran away and you really missed him or her. My dog almost ran away once. Good thing he is used to staying at home. So he just stayed outside until somebody opened the gate for him. I guess he changed his mind about running away.

Candy and Sissy - Candy is the black lab and Sissy is the german shepherd. We miss them terribly!!
People can be so darned cruel! How dare they open the gate. I'm glad he didn't run off. I have a suggestion for you but let me explain why. I had a beautiful german shepherd and a beautiful black lab puppy. My german shepherd figured out how to open the gate... unless someone opened it for her... and she and our black lab got out and took off. I haven't seen them since and hubby and I miss them terribly!! So we got some locks to put on the gates so in the event they ever come back they'll be locked in and NOBODY can let them out unless they have a key. Maybe that's what you should do?

Anything is a possibility but we think that he was chased by some wild animal and got stuck in a tree OR he got locked up in someone's garage or shed. It's hard to say when the little guy can't talk in human language but he's home and we're so excited about it. Also, look at the response above yours, she has some great thoughts on why he came back...

Mom and I both have had many many many cats and a lot of them did the same thing but this one and a select few didn't wonder off and come back so for Cherub to go off like he did and not come home made us worry ourselves sick but he's home and safe now so all is WONDERFUL!! lol Thanks for your kind words!!

Can you believe that I had almost finished a response to you and was almost ready to post it then all the lights went out and wind starting in like nuts!! We got a terrible storm here in which a lot of us went without power for about 6 hours. Hubby and I went to my dad's to help him find my mother's wallet and purse. We found the wallet but not the purse yet. God only knows where that is but we're still looking. Anyway, getting back to the subject at hand, lol... Cherub is a full blooded siamese, he's called the linx... spelling on that one. He's so gorgeous and sweet as honey. Mom has another one who is a mixed siamese, sort of a rag doll type and she named her Holly Dolly. She's a sweetheart too when she wants to be. lol She's ornery too but that's typical of a female siamese or even half siamese. They have an opinion and are more than willing to share it. lol I have a full blooded seal point and a blue point and the seal point is mouthy and opinionated but I wouldn't change her for the world. The blue point is as sweet as a candy cane. He's a real teddy bear so full of love. Well anyway, thanks so much for your kind words! ((((hugs))))

Hi breathless and welcome to mylot!! Now a hint of advice, you'll need to say a bit more than just a few words in order to make any money and to make it interesting. It's something we all had to learn and through advice from friends. Anyway, thanks for the nice comment!! It IS great!!
