I am an optimist. I try my best to look on the bright side of things and to see the good that could come out of a bad situation.

I don't think I'm completely one or the other either. I'd say I'm 60% optimist and 40% pessimist. I think of the good side to things more than the bad, but not all the time.

I put myself under the category of 'realist'. I'm generally optimistic but I do know not everything will be all rosey.

I would have to say that I am Pessimistically Optimistic. So, I try to think positively while realizing that I can't always have my way. So, if the best thing doesn't happen, I am not horribly disappointed. Basically, I try to remember that everything happens for a reason. Back when the hubby and I were looking for a house, we were on our way to the bank to get earnest money for a house we fell in love with when another couple beat us to the punch by a few minutes. I was devastated. But, we found a different, better house in a nicer neighborhood and, as we pass that house we wanted first, I laugh at myself and realize how close we came to missing out on the perfect house and that we didn't get it for a reason!
Ever since then, I try to remind myself of that little rule any time something doesn't go my way!
