How do you get down to business on MyLot?

Today, I'd planned to post a ton of discussions on MyLot. But, it's not working out that way. Just after I started posting, it started raining here (monsoon type weather). And, so I had to shut my computer off for an hour. Then I got back online and got distracted updating my blog. That lasted about an hour. Then I started lunch, right after mopping the floor. Now, I'm back and trying to catch up. I keep getting distracted onto other things here at Mylot too. I've updated my interests several times. I've checked messages. You get the idea. But, somehow I can't make progress toward my goal. Tons of time to do everything else (including edit this post for ten minutes). But, no time to post discussions. My brain or the universe is sabotaging me. I'm sure of it. How do you get down to business and post your discussions on MyLot? Do you have a particular technique or trick that works for you?

It seems like every time I think I am going to sit down and be a little posting fool something happens. They baby starts crying, my son is whining that he wants to use the computer, a dog wants out, a dog wants in, someone calls, a knock at the door, and I get distracted from my goal. Then there is the housework, shopping, cooking and all the other stuff that makes it hard to sit down for more than a few minutes at a time some days. Half to time when I shut down the computer and go to bed at night I remember something that I was going to post and think to myself that I will post it tomorrow and the next day I usually forget.

Yep! I hear you. That sounds like my day. If my spouse is not working he should be able to prepare himself a light lunch sandwich! But, oh, no! That's just not possible! Even on his day off, it's still my day on.

I tend to come up with discussions throughout the day. If I'm at home, I post them immediately(i just leave mylot up all day and check it periodically). If I'm not at home, I write it in a little notebook that I keep with me, its intended use is for grocery shopping lists and such, but has turned into discussion questions, quotes, and a little bit of shopping lists. Whenever I think of a discussion throughout the day, I'll post it. If i have other things going on, I will just write them down and post them all later when I get home.

I don't generally start discussions on mylot. I just go through my friends' discussions and see what I can find that is interesting, while I'm already doing something else anyway. I don't view mylot as a job. It's something that I just do for fun while I'm rating music or something like that. There are other discussion board type sites that I participate in that pay me better. That's why I quit mylot for a while, but recently I decided to come back, because I missed certain people and certain discussions here.

Really? Other discussion boards that pay better? I had no idea. I have tried a few, but never made payout. Some boards are now extinct. If you ever need a person in your downline for those boards, pm the links to me. I'm always looking for new things. Never know when I will strike gold!

I don't post a whole lot of discussions to mylot. I try to answer as many as I can though. I posted one discussion tonight and that will probably be it for the month. I do find myself getting distracted here on mylot though. I will sit and read posts and and comments and wander around the site. I get the email that someone has responded to one of my comments on my cell phone. It is just where I have that particular email address going. So I will sit here and go look for that discussion that I commented on and notice that I have responded to like 4 discussions in all the time I had been here! I get lost in the entertainment of the site sometimes but that is ok. I might not be getting paid the big bucks, but I am having fun for the most part!

Hi, i understand your problem, you got so many other interests that keeps you busy and distracts you. For me, i also have many bussiness but i find a way that works for me. One, maybe you can try to create to do list or idea you want to post, dont make it too hard just a simple list will do. Two, i recently read the "Secret" book and it helps me a lot, it teach me to think positive and be happy all the time, so in the morning i start by saying thank you and gratitude for all that i have and i visualize the goals i want to achieve and last i try to make all happy mind inside my life whatever bad things happen, so when i am facing all the bussiness i can stay calm and do all the things together, i dont stress up even if i dont achieve my goals because i already tried my best and i can continue that tommorow. The point is i can live and do things happily and not ruin all my days. Hope that helps. Have a nice day

I don't normally start a topic. Most of the time I make replies to interesting topics. Maybe the only tip that I can give is to create a topic that never or rarely been discussed here and it has to be interesting. Many readers won't bother spending reading at boring or repetitively discussed topics.

I get down to business on all of my sites, the same way. I take my computer to The Second Cup, plug it in, log onto their wireless, and away I go!!! I'm there where no one can find me, I have my cup of coffee, I have my music on my headphones, and I am able to get a lot of work done that way. I usually show up around 10 AM and stay till 10 PM. I don't just get work done on MyLot that way, I get work done on all kinds of various websites!!!

Wow! You spend way more time at it, than I do. It's good that you have a system for these things.

Most of the time I comment to as many discussions that i can during the course of a day. I don't start that many discussions. Today i have only started 2 that might not even get and answer from anyone; but i comment more than anything.

This past two weeks I've been doing lots of comments too. Discussions are fun, but require lots of follow up. I can't handle more than one or two daily.
