my cats are my kids

I'm so tired of referring to my cats as "my cats." Technically speaking, that is true. But my cats are like family members to me and I think that I should have the right to refer to them as my kids. They are better than kids. I don't have to send them to school, walk them on a leash, take them to the mall, be impressed with their friends, buy them a car, get them into college, lend them money, or any other nonsense. All I have to do is feed and pet and love them and keep their litterboxes clean, plus take them to the vet every so often for check-ups and the like.
Wish I could take them as deductions on my federal and state taxes --- I'd head for the nearest shelter and adopt more cats!

Someone else had a discussion about their cats and i told them that animals have personality just like people the only difference is that they can not talk. Now if they could they would have a lot to say. Plus if they live with you they are more like family than just cats. If they have names they are family.

I do have a cat and referring as my kid. It's not like I don't like kids..to be very honest I love kids.I just treat him like my own son because I love him. I took care of him ever since he's very little baby being abandoned by his mom in my hostel college.
I did care on his healthy. Brought him to hospital for check up, taught him to use his own space, cleaning his mess, protected him from being bullied by the other cats and so on..so it still like take care of the human. For me, it's not like treat a cat like a kid because they are better than kids.
It just love. That's it. Any love that we share to kids, family or even pets must come with sincerity.

I love cats they are such sweet and loving animals. That is why I did go to the nearest animal shelter and I adpopted two kittens they were only 3 months old I have had them for 2 months now.
My daughter accidentally fractured one of their legs and she is in a cast now and I feel so bad for her.
When I got them they had upper respitory infection from being in the shelter and I had to give them antibiotics for twe weeks I nursed them back to health from that and now am nursing my kitties legs back to health.

my mom calls our dog "baby", so she's like the baby girl in the family and ends up as my sister... we don't refer to her as our dog either...

We have three cats all of them are nuts. Just like my kids! The first one is a little magnet. Sit down and she is on you. The other is paranoid except when it comes to me. I hope I can get your help on the third because she is my favorite but we may have to get rid of her.
I got Pepper a long time ago. She has a habit of throwing up everywhere and even deficates on the carpet. I moved her out to garage and even though the cat box is used there is still throw-up all over. I wish I could do something and going to the vet is just outside my means right now. Any advice? She is wonderful furry love-ball and I hate to give her up!

I don't see why not. I have a friend in Mass who could never have children because of an illness she had. Now she has a dog and her cats. These are her children. At first I had a difficult time understanding it. Now I have come to accept it and understand it. She loves these animals and treats them as she would her children. So why shouldn't you call your cats your kids. That's what they are right.

My cat and espically my kitten are my babies. I have four children and no more to come but I would like one more but now too late in life, so my kitten is my baby and I love him just like he was one of my babies, he loves to be cuddles and petted.
He talks to me but he doesn't answer me back!!
If you want to call them your babies then you should do so, it isn't wrong, my kitten is my baby and I call both my cats my boys! So do it.
