I'm his brother's cousin

My fiance and I aren't really related, but he considers his best friend his brother. I am related to his brother by marriage, therefore, we call each other cousin. I am not sure how we are related, but we are distantly. When I first met my fiance, we told his friends as well as my friends that we were cousins, just to gauge a reaction (what can I say, we're young) we seemed to have fooled everyone.
Are you related to someone in a crazy way, and have you had a relationship with them that is more then just platonic?

I see...got you! me? I have not tried any relationship with relatives or relatives to me by marriage!LOL! But, I have friends who got married really to her cousin and they are blessed with 3 kids now!Their families were living far from each other and the old folks realize that the are related during the marriage where everyone shows up!They continue and until this time, they are still together!

My "cousin" and I are related down the line, not really through marriage.

Okay I believe you still may be confused... I am not related to my fiance, rather to the person to whom he considers his brother. I call his "brother" my cousin... because he is related to me in some way.
I am glad that they are still together and have children and that they are happy, and it seems the family is okay with it too. I used to worry that i'd end up marrying my cousin or brother and not know it.

I think it is quite hilarious that we fooled everyone into thinking we were cousins, and somehow you are related to one of my friends who is like a brother too me,even though there is always the chance that you two are not related.

Seems strange if your not related why do you say, that someone else is your cousin if your unrelated. Yet it is nice to like of someone else as family even when you are not related. This is a form of flattery as you regard them as more then just friends.
Be careful that some people do not get the wrong idea, as it is nice to look up to someone else as family.
I regard my Cousin as my sister, as my natural sister never lived long enough for me to know her.
