I am just curious as to how much everyone is spending to fill up their car. I almost fainted today when I filled up my Honda Odysey, and it cost me $60.50 to fill it up.
How much did it cost you the last time you filled up?
What kind of vehicle do you have?

It costs me $50 to fill up. I have a 2000 Ford Taurus - I think it's a 40L gas tank.

I must have had some gas left in the tank--it only cost me $48.00 tonight (I was expecting well over $50!) Gas is $3.63 cash/$3.69 credit, the cheapest I've found. I drive a 2006 Suzuki XL-7; it needs an oil change (only just went past the 3k mark), an alignment/tire rotation, brakes (ack!) and probably should have the transmission checked out.

OUCH! I'm so glad I don't have a diesel--it's over $4.59 a gallon now! They're predicting PA (the eastern portion) to be over $4.00 a gallon (it already is in some parts of Bucks County) this week, and for the entire Delaware Valley (around Philadelphia). That WILL probably stop me from driving...which will stop me from working!
Perhaps we should consider 'conservation'--those stupid fools who are still speeding should be getting really high fines (or their cars taken away), since they're wasting so much gas! Locally, a well-known trucking firm went bankrupt last week, citing high insurance costs (health) and outrageous fuel costs. When is it going to end?
(and I agree--cars are just SO much fun!)

This sure is a timely topic these days! I used to drive around a '89 Chevy conversion van, 7 seats, cb radio, electric fold down couch...the works! Before gas 'went up' I could spend $75 and just about fill it. It had atleast a 30 gallon tank. I would always joke that it took '$20 to get from the bottom of the red (empty) to the top of the red".
When gas shot up I only had one choice: scrap it. I see many larger vehicles for sale and I needed the cash for a car fast. I got $400 from the scrap yard and two days later I picked up a '95 Dodge Neon 'beater' for...$400! I just put $15 in and got about a half tank ($3.80/gal). Even though my wife hates this car and it is the most beat up thing in our neighborhood, I love the idea that I beat the game at the pump!
How about you? What do you drive? Have you heard of these special pills you can put in your tank and save gas...it's a scam, I;m sure.

I hear you! I have to admit I was doing that myself, I would only go up to a half a tank and stop. It would end up being the amount I used to spend to fill it up, but the money seemed the same to me. I finally filled it up the other day though because I had this suspicious feeling the prices were going to go up significantly again, and I was right.

The last time I filled up my car, it cost me $47 using premium gas. The sad part was that my tank wasn't even close to being empty. As for the vehicle, I have a 2007 Honda Accord.

Gas is about $1.30 a LITRE here!!! I'd hate to think of multiplying that by 4 for a gallon. I'm so glad I don't drive, except for the fact that cab fare is getting more and more expensive!!!

We have a 2008 Chevy Uplander. It costs about $80 to fill it up if we run it down pretty low. We've only had it for a couple of weeks, though. But we spent 2 days traveling in it (1100 miles), and that's about what we were averaging.
Since we've been home, my husband has put gas in it twice. The first time he put $50, and then yesterday he put $30. It was still well over half full yesterday, though!

our minivan, a 2004 ford freestar costs about $80 to fill up right now. I've spent more than that, I think it depends which station i go to! One seems to charge you more than it possibly could (Like saying it took 31 gallons to fill a 30 gallon tank that wasn't even empty!) and the other one seems to give you a little more gas for the dollar...(It said we were full at 20 gallons, even though our tank is 30 gallons and was on E w/the light flashing) I've started tracking my mileage since i have no idea to know which station is real.
my saturn is only a 10 gallon tank and costs about $30 anytime I fill it up. When I first bought that car i could fill it for $15.
It's really sad. there is so much we can't/don't/won't do anymore.

$45 to $50 to fill my Kia Sportage. It does get 25 mpg, though, so that helps.

I drive a 93 gmc Safari van and the last fill up was about $75.00, that's at 20 gals. But I'm using a fuel catalyst and my mileage has improved over 4.5 miles a gal so far and it is running great.

I went to the gas station and filled up my Dodge Neon and it cost me $50.33. I am tired of these gas prices so, I decided to get me a bus pass and park my car.

I drive a Tahoe and it takes me about $85 to fill up and my husband drives a Chevy extended cab and it took him $100 worth of diesel to fill up yesterday. My son has an old Toyota pickup and it takes $45 to fill his up. Very DESPRESSING!

We have a 02 chevy Tracker with low mileage and 2000 Kia. I use the Tracker to get me to work and the last time I filled it up it was a little over $50, but that was about a month ago... way before gas reached (and blew right by) the $3.50 mark
I stopped filling the tank and now just get $30 of gas when I need it. The price here in NJ is now $3.63 and climbing.
My hubby uses the Kia and it has a small gas tank and gets decent mileage. He doesn't drive too far, so $20 of gas lasts him quite awhile.
We now schedule needed trips to occur all in the same day...food shopping, trips to the PO, trips to the pump , etc.

I'm not really sure. I usually only buy enough gas to get from point A to point B. I have the sneaking suscpision that if i filled up it would be over 40 bucks. Sad isn't it?

I currently drive a 1989 Chevy Blazer and it costs anywhere between forty five and fifty dollars to fill up the tank, depending on how much gas prices are at the time I fill up.

Well I have a 96 toyota corolla,it takes 40.00 in reg. to fill it.But I take the advice of many of my freinds on here and try to keep it full because it burns slower that way.And 10.00 to keep it topped off is easier than 40.00 or more a pop
to fill up.

We, too, have an Odyssey. The last fill up cost me $60 on the nose. And yes, I, too, almost fainted. With three kids in car seats one needs a bigger vehicle. I just have to cut down on trips and combine errants much better than in the past.
