Air conditioning

Is it hot where you are? Do you use air conditioning or do you keep windows open at night and use fans? Some believe the CFC's put in the air with air conditioners are too harmful to the ozones - while others can't sleep or think in heat! And of course, some have swamp coolers. How bout you?

Absolutely - for me - it is especially so at night when I'm trying to sleep. Good that you have air conditioning!

When it gets to be really hot outside, i use my A/C.I know I won;t be popular but I don't care about the ozone, I like my A/C I hate being over heated. As I write this, it is not too cold or hot so I have the windows open. But if the forecast calls for 80 degree weather, I would put the A/C on.

I'm with you on this one. I even love the smell all air conditioners give out in hotel rooms. I've had one for many years until now, which hopefully will be remedied soon! Its a luxury, a convenience over conscience. I love them much more then evaporative coolers or swamp coolers. :)

Air conditioner! It is way to hot not to have one here. I have a sliding patio door, but no way will I open that. It opens up to the back where there is dirt galore, along with a bunch of wooded areas. My allergies would drive me insane more than they already do.

Yes allergies are a pain. I know my husband is regretting saying our move is my choice! He'd have chosen a nice new apartment in a nice area of town with all the modern amnenities rather then a house outside of town with land a garden. And community.

It is terribly hot here, we are having 100 degree days. I would open the windows, but I live next to the freeway and the noise is too much never mind the pollution when we have the windows open. I run my air conditioning all the time during heat like this.

Oh gosh with 100 degree days, I don 't think opening the window would do anything. Air conditioning is my guilty pleasure, like popular magazines when I'm not feeling well. I say I don't care but really I want to know who jenson ackles and jesse spencer are dating now!

Well right now it isnt that hot its only 50 degrees. But in my room it feels a lot hotter for some reason I guess thats because its right below the attic and right behind the garage. So I have my air condition going on at high speed. I just pray we dont have a lot of hot days during the summer I dont know how im going to last in my room. At my old house I use to stay in the basement where it was cool all the time. Those were the days.

I can imagine that your room is much hotter given the location. One day I'd like an earth berm home - underground or partially underground. Its very energy efficient. Stays the same temperature - about sixty to sixty five degrees, great for both winter and summer.

I have air for the heat of the summer but right now don't need to use it as tonight it will be down in the forties again. It was cool today. I do sleep with a fan on every night....for the white noise. It helps block out noise from the street that is close to my bedroom window.

Its about twenty degrees or more warmer in our house then outside. We have windows open and the fan on in the living room. I'm definitely sleeping in the living room tonight. My landlady doesn't believe in air conditioning - she doesn't have it either. She says open the doors and windows. But there's a cat that sprays who will wander in along with mosquitos!
