Have you ever considered going back to school for certicates or degrees to make more money?
In the US there are many grants and federal loans to pay for school. And if you're going into the medical field - even more, especially if you're willing to work in a rural area.
The Pell grant will give up to I think 2500 your first year at a school - even vocational school and the first year of my Massage Therapy TRaining - at tax time, H&R Block informed me of the Hope Grant which you get with taxes which is also substantial.
Certificates and/or degrees can open up possibilities to work at home and make more money - is this something you've considered? If you have, but haven't started yet - is money the only issue, or like many - including me - do you say, maybe next year...

if i had that opportunity in my country i'll definitely go back in school..i really long to finish my studies but under many circumstances i fail to finish..one reason i didn't finish is money..i couldn't afford to go on studying while my siblings aren't so i chose them first before mine..i guess if i ever go back to school well its not because of the money..i didn't graduate but i have a good paying job..but what it is really why i wanna go back to school is because i always dreamed of having a degree on me..just to say i finish what i really wanna finish..and i wanted to have the title on me just before i die..i wanted to be a good lawyer..and for me it is such a big accomplishment to finish law..

I have considered going back to school, not to make more money per se but to do something I like. When I got my first degrees, I got them in Biology which is what my parents wanted. I should have been an English Major, lol. But what I would really like to do and may do when my husband gets out of school and starts making some money is go back to school and get a degree in Psychology--I would like to be a therapist. Heck I do it for free for my friends, might as well get some training and make some money at it!

Yes, I could go to school forever, just for fun - the fun of learning - and I'd like to be a therapist too - just not the traditional talk therapy, morita type - the get up and just do it therapy.
So why don't you - judging from many of your answers here on mylot you'd do very well.

I sometimes think about going back to school, but not every seriously. If I did go back, it would be either for a second master's degree or for my Ph.D. However, right now, I need to be working full time (and I do love my job). My fiance still needs to finish an undergrad degree and start on a career for us to be able to afford me going back to school, even with financial aid.

Well I see what you are saying but you have to have money to make money. I have been going to college online for 2 years now and am only half way through getting my bachelors so I can get a good paying job when I am done. Pell grants are not always easy to come by I right now do not qualify for grants so loans is what I got to go to school so far I have a 15,000 loan out for school. I think they need to lower college tution costs so that more people can have the oppritunity to go to school, better their education and make more money to keep up with today's economy.

I think so too. There are grants out there, it just takes some work to get them. Next time you get your taxes done, ask about the hope grant. There is an organization called AmericCorps - for any age, that helps you pay for school.
There are also programs where if you agree to work in certain places, schooling is paid for - especially if its medical.
all I'm saying is that we shouldn't let our but this and but thats keeping from our dreams. And you don't have to have money - but you do have to start making money after college so you don't have to keep deferring the loans.
A friend of mine is pursuing her nursing degree at the local community college and she says its completely free because she's a resident. Nice deal.
Good luck!
