hi, i was on a conversation with a bunch of officemates during lunch and one of my co-worker mentioned that those who usually sounds good over the phone are most likely to be ugly when you meet them in person. Is it true? What are your thoughts on this?... :)

hi kenchiprincess... i honestly don't know, i believe in not passing a judgment over a voice. I mean, I will be open-minded until then.
moreover if we have no high expectations with the voice, the less we don't get disappointed. i believe that some people have great voice and that's their asset while some has shrill and funny voice like fran drescher in "the nanny" and has great figure...LOL
what's your opinion?

Let me tell u all an inident that my friend faced few years back. He used to chat with a girl online and they used to talk over the phone too. Whenever we used to talk about that girl, he used to tell me that her voice is so sexy and she must be a sexy lady too. And one day they arranged a meeting at a cafe. And the next day, he told me that after looking at the girl on the prebooked table, he ran away, never met her, deleted her contact from his msn messenger.
So voice is almost always deceptive.

When I was in highschool, i love listening to most of the guy dj's in our local radio station. I was young and had crushes on most of them too, because they have such wonderful voices. Since those radio stations were in the nearby city, my friends and I decided to visit them all. Thinking then that the voices must have handsome faces too. Apparently, I was wrong. I didn't get disappointed though because they were all friendly and nice to us..I have learned that voices are just voices. It doesn't make up a whole person's being. What's important is what they truly are inside..

The stats ARE too high for comfort...I mean, there ARE quite a handful of people who sound good but don't necessarily LOOK good. However, seeing as there are a lot of good-looking lead singers in bands (that's practically a rule: if you're the lead singer, you have to be cute enough), it totally offsets the aforementioned stats. So the best thing would be to not judge a person by his/her voice. After all, to SEE is to believe.
