cell phones and kids

at what age do you think it is appropriate for your children to have cell phones and why?

as soon as the children leaves home on their own when doing an errand or when going to school on their own, i think they should be given their own cell phones. just make sure that they understand the main reason why they are given such -so that you can contact them and vice versa, and inform you of their whereabouts.
