Youngsters getting inspired and following tv is very bad. Just yesterday my best friends son got into a very serious motorbike accident. Witnesses say he was trying to drive like one of the heroes we see in movies. Seeing such things happening to someone close to us is really frightening.

I agree with your view upto an extent. TV does play a role in moulding characters of some persons, but it cannot be said with conviction that TV is the only culprit, which plays a major role in increased crimes. Occurance of crimes is part of a civilised society. As long as their is divide between poor and rich people, crime will continue to occur. As long as their is poverty and unemployment, crimes will continue. You see most of the crimes are committed by 'have nots'. There are few who are born criminals. It is the society, which makes a poor man criminals. Allegations are also levelled against Hindi Movies that they help increase in crime rate. Though, people connected with Hindi movies denies the same. They say - we show, what we see in society. So at the end, it is like an egg and hen story, which came first into this world.

The one who has got evil mind, will get the training from anywhere.

I dont believe that anyone is born a criminal. It is what a person sees around him and what he learns that makes him good or bad. It is just that the TV news channels nowadays give detailed account of the crimes that take place that Television has become a training centre for criminals.

Hi there Mayka!
I guess it's one of the factors which affects the unstable minds of some people who are committing violence.

I know we see alot of crime on television, and I dont think the crime rate has increased solely because of television, yes it can influence people to commit wrong doings, but is also the fault of the wrong doer because they did what they know is wrong, and it is also the producer of the television show's faults because they put so much violent stuff on television.

Yes I agree that the wrong doers are completely at fault. But there was a time when we only got news that a murder or crime had occured. Now on television they give exact details of how the crime has occured. It is a step by step account given by the media now. So our kids are learning more.

Surely criminals are to be blamed for commiting crime but the media has to be blamed for teaching them how to do it. Television is not telling you to commit a crime but they are showing you how to do it. Those who are not criminal minded will not pay so much attention to this but for the criminals this has become a learning platform!

Yeah I admit that the television does give step by step details of how the crime occurred,so it does help other criminals learn new tricks, but it is still there fault for wanting to commit crimes.

On my opinion, i think it somehow affects people's mind, but of course there are also other major factors too.
