Why do people laugh when men get hit in the crotch?

I watch these funniest videos and I don't understand what is so funny about a man getting hit in the crotch. I am a woman and I still don't see the humor in it.
In fact I don't think anything doing with another persons pain is funny. I have seen people laugh at someone slip and fall. I don't get it.
Do you laugh at things like this? Can you explain what is so funny?

Boy, I'll have to agree with you there! (I'm a woman too) There is nothing funny about them getting hit there. When I watch the funniest videos, I almost always groan and feel bad for the guy, but I sure don't laugh! I have to agree to that finding another persons pain is not in the least funny. They always say that 'nobody was hurt' while making these videos, but I'll bet they're totally wrong on that...how could a guy get hit there and not have pain?! I think these videos de-sensitize people to other peoples pain and humiliation sometimes. (Just my widdle opinion lol)
