Are you making any money selling your crafts?

Are you making any money? Are you making enough to cover your supplies? I am at a slump again and not doing a thing on etsy except lookers. How is it with you?

I'm not doing any crafts for income, although I've sold a few afghans and baby blankets in the past.
My husband is starting to make some really nice things from stones and marble, so we may start marketing that. I sure hope it can be somewhat lucrative.
What crafts are you making? Where are you marketing them, online or in the 'real world'?

I market my crafts on etsy (sweetdesign.etsy.com)and I have my own website (sweetdesigninc.com)and I rent booths at flea markets.
I do ceramics, polymer clay, and jewelry among other items. I love doing it just right now I could really use some income.

Don't be afraid to charge what your creations are worth on Etsy. Trust me, I had people telling me my items are too inexpensive and buyers look at the price and think "cheap" if they think the price is too low. (people still think my items are too low or "the best price on Etsy"...LOL) But really, buyers look at the price first and if it isn't high enough , they think you used cheap materials--even when you didn't!
To answer your question...Etsy has been fairly slow for me since February. I promote as often as I can, at least 2 or 3 times a day for about 15 minutes sessions during the day and at least 30 minutes at night.
I think I've made more than 75% of my sales by promoting in Etsy's forums, so don't be afraid to promote, promote, promote!!
There are customers out there that will buy your items, you just need to drive them to your site...plus when your promoting, you increase your chances of another seller seeing your shop and maybe adding you to their next treasury or perhaps suggesting your shop to someone looking for something similar to what you sell.
Etsy has been slow, I sell handmade jewelry and the competition has been fierce (4 sales this month, 4 sales last month and even the craft shows have been mediocre, at best) but keep promoting when you can and the buyers will find you!

I need to promote more I know. I am getting some postcards ready to put out. I also need to seriously look at my prices and redo some pics on a lot of my items.

I've had more luck with selling via ebay than I ever have on etsy.
I've still got a few bits on my shop but I'm not holding my breath!
I've managed to have a cabinet of my wares placed in an art gallery near where I live in Wales UK. Waiting for the holiday season to begin and hopefully clear out some of my growing crafty items!
It'll be interesting to compare success rates....
