Summer used to be a time for laying on the beach, napping, and hanging out with friends. But, many college students I know will spend the summer in the classroom or doing research with professors. Will you be in school this summer? What courses will you be taking? Will you be doing research? Do you have any fun plans to complement your academic obligations?

I'm taking one summer class this summer. It actually started on Monday. It's a child development business class for my major. It only goes until July so my whole summer won't be wasted on a summer class thankfully. However if I hadn't signed up to take the class I'd probably be stuck in school a lot longer taking classes.

Summer can be a great time to get ahead with your classes. Sounds like you made a smart choice to take a summer course!

My spring term ended during the first week of May and I had one week off before I started my summer class. I wanted to get some more credits out of the way so I decided to take summer classes however I am only taking two classes. The way my school works, you can take shorter classes and attend longer sessions per day or you can take longer classes with shorter sessions per day. I opted for shorter classes therefore I have class four days a week for three and half hours a day. The good news is that my semester is only six weeks long. Next week is finals and then I have the rest of the summer to relax and I do not have to go back to school until September so although I am taking summer classes, it does not feel like I did.
