internet connection with GPRS phones

i have come across so many article about how to use a GPRS enabled phone to connect pc, laptops to the internet, the GPRS will be acting as the modem, but you have to connect the phone and the computer with USB cable, infra red or bluetooth, does anyone here know how this really works, please help

Its very easy.You need to install the Phone Software that came with your phone,mine is Sony Ericsson,I installed on my pc,connected the usb cable,the software will automatically detect your phone,then look for the Network Wizard.Before you can use the phone to connect to the internet make sure that the internet\gprs\mms settings are activated,you can check it through your mobile operators to send you settings.
