What is the value of '0 ' in the number system.? If I remove 0 from the counting numbers, what will happen to the subject maths?

Like all numbers, no matter what language, Zero is only a symbol created to use as a placeholder for the concept of nothing in that place...
...If you take out zero (the symbol)from the counting system, you will end up with something like Roman numerals
I=1 C=100
V=5 D=500
X=10 M=1000
L=50 ??(I always wondered what the next symbol was, but it would stand for 5000)
...You can not remove the concept of zero, because we will always understand that which we do not have.
