Today i was at the grocery store getting lunch for work and saw stir fry veggie trays. My mom has been buying the Zip'n steam bags for veggies at her house so i decided I'd try them at work. Wow do they ever work nice you just put the veggies in, no water and it tells u on the bag how long to put it in the microwave for. I had corn and peppers and cauliflower for lunch today!

I bought some of those for the first time a few months ago. They work great. Asparagus, broccoli, and corn on the cob come out perfect in them. I have even steamed some Tilapia fillets in them before.

Tilapia is a type of fish. It has a mild flavor and is not fishy tasting.

Im so glad to hear something postive about the Zip'N Steam bags, cause I bought some this morning when I was at the grocery store. I've never tried them before so that makes me feel better hearing someone else say they are good =)

Now i know that they work so when i'm ready to try them; i know that it will not burn the veggies in the bag. I thought that might not work but i see that they do. I know that they may cost a little but it seems to be worth the cost.

I think anything will burn in the microwave if you cook it too long but I followed the directions and they didn't burn. The convenience for work lunches was definitely worth it to me. I'm trying to eat healthier foods and spend less on food out and this might just help.

This sounds like a great idea! I am going to have to get some on my next trip to the store. We usually buy the frozen veggies that you put in the microwave that will steam in the bag they come in. I think it would be much better if we could buy fresh veggies and use the bags you are talking about. Fresh veggies are always better than canned or frozen ones to me!

I found them in the same aisle as the sandwich bags here if that helps. I love fresh veggies and without using water to cook them I've heard they are better nutritionally because the nutrients dont get taken out with the water. I really really enjoyed my lunch today.
