Hi! I was trapped inside a lift last month, for about ten minutes, before being rescued. I became restless because i was already late for an appointment by five minutes. However, i managed to convince the party with the reasons for delay. I would like to know any of you had similar experience of being trapped in a lift or elevator at any time and how you felt at that time?

when i was a kid, i was terrified of elevators (or any other kind or room that didn't have a window and the main door closed tight-like public bathrooms) and i would always try to convince someone to walk up or down the stairs with me. luckily, i never did get stuck in an elevator as a child because that would have been just horrible! but as an adult i did. (i've since gotten over my fears). it was me and a friend/co-worker. we were leaving to go for lunch when there was a power outage. the manager and a supervisor knew we were in there and were talking to us through the door. we were stuck between floors.they had to call the fire department and got us out after about half an hour.

I'm glad that you were not in the elevator long and they got you out in a timely manner. It could have been worse. Did yo make it to your appointment on time? I hope that you did. Good thing that you are not clusterfobic or something like that; you would have bugged out.

No I haven't had the experience of getting trapped in a Lift. That would be such a waste of time if it is going to take quite a while to get out of the lift.

My freshman year of college I got trapped in the dorm elevator with a foreign exchange student that didn't speak English. Forty minutes after first pressing the alarm button we were finally rescued. Since that day I always get nervous when I have to use an elevator and take the stairs whenever possible.

yes I had. I was with a close friend of mine and we were at the office about to have a smoking break. On the way down, the elevator just stopped between 4th and 5th floor and the lights went our. We were shocked. We just opened our cellphones and laughed. The elevator was lit with cellphone backlights. It went back in around 3-4 minutes. :D

I always try to walk upstairs. I do not like being in small enclosed spaces. I feel close to panic in those situations.
The only time it happened to me was in a hotel in Paris. Fortunately it was one of those cage type elevators, so I could see out. We were not trapped for long as it was a frequent occurance and the hotel staff were used to releasing people from it.

i was a kid at that time. no one told me the elevator was out of use, there wasnt any sign.. i got on it and it was stuck! i was so scared! i hit my umbrella on the door and cried loudly. Frantically pressing all the buttons hoping it will moved.. fortunately, the lights was not out. if not i might have a panic attack.. eventually, some1 heard me and ask for my name, called my mum and the elevator repairman and finally i was out.. i was sooooooooo scared.. but i don have a phobia lol =)
why didnt they repair the elevator in the first place? =.=!

About two months ago i was shopping in my local town, when i saw this top that i liked,so i went in the lift to get upstairs, what i didnt know was three lads had been messing round in the lift a couple of minutes before i arrived and the lads were also in the lift. the lift stopped about half way up and i was stuck in there for about an hour when we started moving again. The doors opened to find the police standing waiting. they grabbed me and the three boys. I was in a panic, i explained to the police that i didnt even know the lads. They appologised and let me go. It turns out the lads had been robbing from the shop, and the police thought i was one of the suspects

I was trapped in an elevator once, but I had my cellphone with me. This was at school, I just called the office at school and asked them to get me out of there. The principal was a little upset that I had a phone (cellphones weren't allowed) but then I reminded him that if I didn't have the phone I wouldn't have been able to call for help without screaming. LOL He didn't complain about the phone again, after that.

Luckly I have never been traped in an elevator even though I always fear that someday I will be trapped and it will be like that tower of terror except for the part where you go back up lol. I would hate to be stuck in there for hours with out anything to eat drink or not to be able to go to the bathroom that would be tortured.

I was once trapped in an elevator at work with two of my co workers. One of them was a good friend of mine and I hugged him as I was very scared. We were stuck in there for about 10 minutes as well I believe, if not a little less. This particular elevator would go to three floors. Sometimes I would press the button for the 2nd floor but it would take me to the basement instead.

There is no way I could ever be trapped in and elevator because my worst fears are heights and closed dark places.
I have never had quite that experience but one time I was playing with my friends in her moms car and they decided to shut me in the trunk. It was the worst feeling ever. I hypervinolated and freaked out.
