I Find this strange....i start a discussion saying something or asking something that comes to my mind and when i submit the discussion then ...low ...out of hte blue...i see similar questions being asked by someone else...now what do i do :) ....two quotes come to my mind at this moment :) Great people think alike....and the other is the same as well ....Fools seldom differ :) no offence to anyone but hmm any suggestions how to get to know if the discussion has already been started ....just search for such discussions is that the only way...or is there any other better way you know...Please share n suggest

I totally agree with you on how strange it is. I've experienced the exact same thing. I was thinking I wonder what mylotters think about this and was preparing to start a discussion and then I saw somebody had just started one on that exact same topic.
Yes I guess you can use the searchbox to see if there are any discussions about a topic. If they haven't been active for a while then I don't see why you couldn't start a new one. If it is active then somebody else saved you the trouble of starting a thread and you can post you views on the subject anyway.

I'm not gonna lie, I don't search to see if something has already been discussed. I just get an idea for a topic and then post it. Generally, I think mine have not been asked before, but if they are, oops! I don't do it on purpose or anything, I would never steal someone else's idea.

I usually use the search bar and look under "mylot" to see if anything comes up that is close to what I want to post about. Another thing you could do is go to the interest you are going to post under and browse the first few pages. If you don't see anything close to what you want to discuss, go ahead and post it. Also, look at the date of those similar discussions...if it's been 6 months or longer, I would go ahead and post what you wanted. You will get different responses now, since a lot more people have joined here at MyLot.
