Step-Parents~ What Do You Call The Children??

I think in his own way my husband does love my kids from my previous marriage, but not like his own child with me.
How do I get him to stop referring to them as JUST step children?? Or can I??
I am not a step-parent, so don't really know what it is like.
I love kids and can't personally see me treating any child differently if he/she were not my own biological child.
What is your take on this??
It breaks my heart to see my other kids treated so differently.

I have a son, not my biological son but my own son nevertheless. When he was a young boy, I explained to him that I loved him because God gave him to me. I therefore had every right to be his father because he was my God-given son. I never refer to him as anything but my son.

I, too tell all my kids that I love them because God gave them to me :)
I think it is great that you view your son as your son :)
