I've been watching the posts about losing weight and I haven't seen one about ice water. It really works. I mean, you have to diet and exercise a little, too, but ice water speeds up your metabolism so you can lose weight just sitting still.
I wanted to create a post about it so more people would try it instead of my answering a few other posts.
Has anyone else tried this? Please give me your story if you have. I've used ice water and it really works.

I don't know that ice water can lose one's weight like you said, how cold the water is proper.

Just fill the glass up half full with ice, then add the water. That's cold enough. It works, but only with a proper diet and exercise; even moderate exercise will help.

Hi There,
I have never heard of ice water speeding up the metabolism before. I have heard of making sure to drink 8 glasses of water per day, but not about the ice water part. I have also heard that if you put lemon juice in your water it will speed up the process as well. I am going to give this a try. I have lost 92 pounds since a year and a half ago, but I would still like to lose a little more.
cheers,

I always drink ice water...I guess I just need help with the diet and exercise part. I also still believe I'm at a healthy weight just not I don't get enough energy. Ice water helps me out with that in the morning though just to get me going

I've read about it somewhere that our body use up more calories in digesting cold water - it needs to heat it up to our body temperature before absoption. So yeah, i guess we use up more calories if we drink cold water. But it only hepls a little, proper diet and exercise still the best way of losing weight.

Yes, diet and exercise are necessary for weight loss. You won't lose much weight at all simply drinking ice water (or very cold water). You'll just burn up as many calories as it takes to warm your body back up. You need to combine the water with a diet and exercise plan.

Drink it slowly, but enough so that you can feel it in your tummy. That means that your metabolism is working harder to warm your tummy up.
Good luck to you!

I just heard about it myself recently. All of the friends I've told this to are telling me that it's working. So there must be something to it, for sure!
