Can you make a living from writing articles for Triond, Helium, A/C etc.. ?

I have been reading quite a few discussions recently on these types of websites that pay you to write articles for them. I haven't tried any of them yet, but as I like writing it's something that interests me. I wouldn't be able to make a guess at how much one would earn from these articles. Could anyone give me an idea of what's possible earnings-wise? Do you (or could you) make a decent living just writing articles for these sites or is it something that it's best to do alongside a 'proper' job?

It is just an extra money to pay atleast your internet bill or gas for one time in a month.i am writing for both helium and ac.I have been paid twice by helium(member for the past 1.5 years).Through AC i got more than from helium in a short span with less number of articles.I am not familiar with trinod.I will recommend you to AC.

That sounds good if you can earn enough to pay a bill. It's interesting hearing about the different sites. I guess they have completely different rules to eachother and so pay differently. Well done for getting paid by them! I will think about AC. Thanks for replying.

I have written articles for Associated Content. I think the income from these type of sites should be used to supplement income already coming in. I suppose if you wrote for more than one of these sites, it may be possible. In my experience I haven't come across anyone who supports themselves solely from writing for them.

Ok, it sounds a bit like myLot in that respect then, something you'd do alongside a job or other money-making activities. Thanks for replying.

You can't make a living on these sites I don't see that as being possible. But you can earn some extra cash that you could use to pay a credit card bill or buy some food or some other necessities. As a student the money that I get from this is a really big help because I don't work anymore and I am able to use this earning for my books next year and for other stuff that I may need. I've never been paid by helium. I have been paid by AC once. It was for one article and they paid me $10 for that one article. I am hoping that this year I could have more luck with helium and get paid again by AC.

I'm glad that you're finding these sites useful to fund your books. It sounds like it's very difficult to earn much from this, although you did very well to get $10 for one article. Thanks for your reply, and good luck with your future articles!

You could make a living doing it, but you would have to put in 40 hours a week! You'd have to make sure you can write new articles every day and then you'd also have to work on promoting those articles...I don't make hardly a living on ac, but it's not bad pocket change :)

Ok, you make it sound like it's hard but possible! I should imagine it would be difficult to come up with so many new ideas, and the promoting sounds very hard too - I wouldn't know where to start!! I'm glad you're able to make some money from it. Thanks for your answer.

I do not think I personally can do it though. I am quite a bad writer, nobody really reads my publishes. sadly. I write to reviewstream most of the time. I tried Helium and associated contents, no traffic at all. haha.

Thanks for your reply. It's a shame that writing for these sites didn't work for you. It must be difficult to control how much you earn (or whether you'll earn anything at all) as you never know if anyone will read your articles. Sounds like a bit of a gamble to me, spending all that time writing and then not being read by anyone. I think maybe reviewstream sounds like a safer bet. Thanks for your reply.

I do not think you could make a living from these sites. A little bit of "mad money" might be made but that is about about it.

Thanks for your answer. That's the general impression I'm getting here. I'm thinking of maybe trying one article and seeing how it goes. I'm not holding out high hopes for it though and don't think it'll become my full-time job!

Associated Content works the best in my experience. 400-something published articles, the pay performance without writing anything more tends to net me $100 bucks extra a month.

Sounds like you're doing really well, you must be pleased with that! It sounds impressive having over 400 published articles, it must have been a lot of hard work, but it's great that this gives you this useful monthly income without you having to do any more. Thanks for replying.

Hi, In my opinion, we can't make a living using Triond, Helium, AC and so on. Personally, I only use Triond. I am using Triond for almost 2 weeks and now I have over 10cents for 3 articles. I have do some calculation to use Triond. My 3 articles are making 2cents per day.If 3 articles make 2cents per day. If I have 30 articles, I will be making 20cents per day. If I have 300 articles, I will make $2.00 per day. What If I have 1000, I will make $6.67 per day. Within 1 month, will be $200. It can be extra income but surely not making a living using it.

Hmm, 1000 articles would take rather a long time I think. I get your point though, the more articles you build up the more you earn, assuming you get a constant amount of traffic each day. I agree, the money you're talking about would be useful, but not a living. Thanks for replying, and good luck!

Hello liquorice. Well, I do some writing at Helium, Associated Content, Constant Content, Triond, and Printnpost. There are people at Helium who claim to make in the hundreds of dollars every month. At AC, there are people who have had millions of page views on their articles! Even so, it's hard to believe one could make enough to live on. However, sometimes, if a writer is good enough, he or she will be approached by a publisher to write exclusively for that publisher. People this happened to on Helium have written about it in the community boards there. And it has happened more than once. So, I think the point here is that if you can write alot and write very well and post regularly on several sites, a publisher might approach you and offer you steady work. Good luck. PearlGrace

Yes, liquorice. You have nothing to lose but a little bit of time and effort. Plus, you might make a few cents on the side. Good luck! PearlGrace

Thanks for your answer, that's really interesting. Millions of page views sounds very impressive, and their articles must be very well-written. It would be wonderful to be approached by a publisher, but don't think that would happen to me!! I might dabble in one of these sites just to try it out, but I'm not expecting to make enough to live on.

I think that you can indeed make a living from sites like these. However, it takes a lot of time to build up earnings. I have been working online doing a wide range of things since August and still don't make enough to call a living, but I have watched it grow into hundreds each month. Each program works a little differently and has different earning potential. If you are really interested you can check out my profile where the sites that I write for are listed as well as a link to my money making blog that has a lot of information in it (and more each week).

This is an interesting reply as the majority of people here have said that you can't earn very much at all from these sites. It's impressive that you're able to earn hundreds each month. Are all the programs that you do paid-to-write ones like Associated Content and Helium? I'll have a look at your profile, but to be honest I'm a bit dubious that I'd be able to make this much. I think you must have to spend nearly every waking hour on our computer!? Perhaps I'm wrong. I'll take a look :) Thanks for your reply.

I agree, aiden. A big key to earning more, both upfront and through performance bonuses, is to write articles about topics that are getting searched on a lot. Use standard SEO practices and specific keywords and you will earn a lot more for the same amount of time. Obviously, it will take work and you will need to be a reasonably good writer in order to earn more. I just started writing for AC again after being off the site since last November. I've been freelance writing and writing content for a couple of sites as the money has been steady and guaranteed, which is always nice. For anyone wanting to earn more over at AC, go to their forum and read some of the terrific posts there. There have also been a number of very good articles written about earning more at the site - search the site for some of these. Excellent information and even some very detailed methods for writing articles that not only get more upfront, but also earn more by generating organic search engine traffic for bigger bonuses.

I don't know if you can make a living from these sites. An extra buck here or two, sure, but not enough to take care of bills and stuff. I wish, though. I would do everything possible to make enough to live well.

i learned a lot from this discussion :) . I never heard of sites like triond, helium or ac and all those others. Sadly for me there aren't great sites like that in dutch, or there are, but they are difficult to find... I fear my english isn't good enough for writing a lot of articels in that language. Although i could always try, getting better at english can always help, untill french becomes the new worldlanguage and i'll have to polish my french up a bit... Why didn't dutch became the language of america...? *wondering* oh well... %-)
