I have a 3 year old son. I am having trouble getting him to use the potty. Any advise?

have you tried the Cheerios in the toilet thing? When you want him to try put like 3 or 4 cheerios in the toilet and tell him to pee on the cheerios and make them move. If he doesn't get it have daddy or uncle do it so he can see. My youngest loved this. He thought it was a little game and he was so proud to make the cheerios move. My oldest was a little more difficult. He refused to pee in the toilet. He would pee in his underwear if we put it on him. We finally would spend a couple of hours a day with him running around naked. He wouldn't pee on himself so he would then use the potty. It just took some time to get him to go to the potty instead of going in his pants or diaper.

When you say potty do you mean one of those plastic chairs? Is it all aspects of training both urine and bowels? As far as urination goes it is better if the boys learn this technique from dad since we can not pee standing up. I used cheerios and had him aim to hit them. As far as bowels try putting him on a schedul like.. 8am till 815 and express the importance of his going. give him a book and stay there with him till his success. If no success try it at 12 and then again at 4 then again at 8. If he is sitting on a regular toilet and not a potty chair he may be scared.

My youngest son is 3 also and he is currently potty training, but he still seems a bit clueless, lol Hang in there, he'll get it...
