my boyfriend's mom will celebrate her birthday next week, I really don't have any idea on what gift should I give to her. I really don't know her interests nor her hobbies for we haven't talk that much and we're not that too close. I don't want to be in her party without anything for her. Help! what kind of gift should I give to her? please give me any idea, I will appreciate it. thanks a lot in advance.

Since you do not know her very well, I would more than likely buy her some flowers or fix her up a flower pot myself using a flower bucket and some artificial flowers. All women like flowers and if you do not know if she is allergic to some of them, then I would go with artificial ones.

it doesn't need to be expensive.,just a simple gift that comes from your heart will do...better ask your boyfriend about anything that his mom likes.,and surely you'll get an idea on what gift should you buy for her.,Ü goodluck!

I'd actually ask your boy friend if his mom likes flowers. My mom doesn't like them. And, she may be allergic. If he says she likes them, I'd get her a simple bouquet in a pretty vase plus a gift card. Ask what her favorite store is. If he doesn't know, get her one to a local, popular restaurant.

Yes, but most of the accessories I've seen were all came from the other country.. she doesn't wear too much accessories, but if she does, most of them were really expensive.. so If I'll give her accessories, really need to good on picking up accessories.

I particularly like candles, A nice smelling candle set with an appealing appearance is just what I'd love to get a gift. It's sentimental and can last a long time.

bake a cake or any dessert.
It has a touch of you and baking it yourself just means that you have given real effort for it. Mom's are also impressed when it comes to good baked products and desserts. Because most moms like to cook or bake. It's also a perfect gift since it's her birthday.
If you're not an experienced baker, you can ask for help from somebody who does. A little help wont hurt.

I think everyone likes gift cards. Perhaps you could get her a gift card or certificate to a store that sells many different things so she will have plenty of options to choose from. If that doesn't sound good, what about perfume? A light, sweet smelling perfume is usually a pleasing aroma to any woman.

Hmmm, this is quite an awkward way of admitting something in a relationship...
What to give.. I guess you don't hang around much when your boyfriend's mom is present, do you? At least you could think about things that you can buy from her, basing from how you observe her if she's around.
You can ask your boyfriend about it though. Those details that you don't know of like what you have already mentioned in your post, interests and hobbies..
What kind of mother is she like to you, based on your impression alone. That can be nice to think about on what you could give to her but, on the safe side, inquire from your boyfriend if your assumptions are right.
Why not hang out with her, treat her somewhere? At the mall or somewhere?

Its really not simple if they would give you vague ideas on things that you want to be certain about.
You call her simple as well as mysterious.. well, I guess she's a mystery on this situation wherein you want to give her something nice.
Your boyfriend is a big help as well though, I guess they want to see how creative you are on your own with regards to thinking about something nice to give.. A determining factor for approval, perhaps?
At anyrate, if you think that she'll like what you want to give her, you can always say to yourself, its the thought that counts

My boyfriend wants me to visit him especially if his mom is around..he wanted me to feel closer to her. yeah, we talk, but she doesn't mention some of her hobbies and interests. we always go out of town, go to church always with his mom. what I observe whenever I am with her were she loves to eat. but I think that observation isn't enough.her mom is so simple, and a mysterious type of woman. so it was so difficult for me to know what she really wants. I do ask my boyfriend regarding what's the best gift should I give to his mom, and what he said was " my mom is so simple. she'll be happy whatever you'll give to her. you don't have to buy some expensive stuffs for her. for as long as it came from the better of your heart. she'll really appreciate it.even if you give none. your presence is important."...with that statement, I feel more confuse on what to give to her.*sigh*...

Does she have a picture of you and your husband? A recent one? Most Mom's would like a nice picture in a nice picture frame of their child and his/her married partner.
Without knowing hobbies and interests, I don't know what else I could suggest. Maybe while you're there at the party, you can find out what some of her interests are for the future.

Sorry, I should have said of you and your boyfriend. I forget whose married and who's boyfriend and girlfriend, etc. around here. But I still think if I were your future Mom-in-law, that is what I would like.

It doesn't have to be pricey. Picture frames can be bought at dollar stores. A friend could take your picture with a good digital or some other kind of camera. There are websites that teach how to make your own picture frame. Pictures and frames can be as cheap or as expensive as you want and so can the pictures.

ask your bf about his mom's weakness. that way, you'll be able to have an idea. you can ask your bf about his mom's favorite food. you can cook it or try giving her another - a cake or a flowers with a card. i think she'll like it

hello, myfriend.I haven't have this problem cause I even haven't got bf,so bad!If I were you, I will try to know her hobbies from my bf,and you can solve this together with him.In my opinion, both nice clothes and beautiful flowers are good to be gifts,or something you handmade.
Hope it can be helpful.

i think the best gift for your bf's mom is just being there. i know she will very much appreciate your presence more than any gift you can think off.

Well giving an idea for buying gift is simple but first of all want to know what is your budget. Until and unless we know it we cannot give any ideas other than flowers, chocolates, gift cards, and cakes etc., If your budget permits, you can go for diamond ring and pendants. If your boyfriend tells you that she likes pets, defneatley you can go for pets as a gift, as that gift gives her immense pleasure.

Before buying any present, first you ask your boy friend about his mothers choice and taste. Then yo can buy a better gift, that can win her mind very easily.

I suggest you tell your boyfriend what you have just told us, and ask him what his mother likes, or ask him to ask his mother what interests her, if he does not already know. I think it is important to figure out what she likes, instead of giing her something she doesn't.

LOL, I probably shouldn't answer this one, as I can't stand my wife's mother, and anything I tell you would probably get you in big trouble with her and your boyfriend! But no, really, if you don't know her very well, just go with a nice box of chocolates or a bunch of flowers.
