Do you think it's possible for me to learn web graphic design even if I don't have any background AT ALL???? Well, I'm a teacher by profession but I'm very much interested to learn computer stuff. However, my parents keep discouraging me--stressing that I should just focus on my career. Maybe I just need some encouragement. :(

I learned website design from free things that I found searching the internet, while working a full-time job. There are plenty of sites that give you free 'mini courses'. If you have an eye for design, you'll do just fine. You can take classes at community colleges, but I'd learn all I could first by searching the internet.
I meant it... I learned everything I needed to create some great website designs just from free sources on the internet. You can do it. An eye for design and a desire to learn... that's all it takes.
Good luck!

I agree with you. Like me, I did programming studies via internet, such as forums and other tutorials.
In return, I've come back to forums and post what I have learned to help others too. There are huges free resources via internet this days. So keep up.

Surely you can do. You can learn and practice by seeing examples from others.
I suggest to buy some books and follow their guides.
However, if you have any question you can ask me or other mylot's user all the time.

Yes you can do it. There is a lot of free offerings online. Or if you'd rather, you can take a class through your continuing education program, local library, or online. It really depends upon how you like to learn. As with many things, there are all different levels to being able to work in this profession.
