I've visited odesk and getafreelancer before, and I got overwhelmed by the massive list of freelancers "lining up" for a specific job. Any words of advise on how to land a job there? And yes, when the magic words 'credit card number' or 'paypal' account pop out of a prospective work at home job offer, I automatically take a step back and skip them.

You will find this very helpful. They have alot of companies who are hiring people to work from home.

Hi, I've noticed www.keyforcash.com this website seems pretty good to apply for data entry jobs but they're only for people who reside in U.S. plus there's a waiting list too. I wish I can apply for these jobs in this website though but I can't unfortunately as I am located in Australia. If anyone knows any similar website for Australian, please let me know. Thanks.

ya, working online or telecommuting is increasing day by day.And serveys has shown that , millions of people are preferring to work online. Now a days work online is done in almost every field,but the data entry jobs are the biggest jobs which are done on net.
yes you are right that there are lot of spams online in this respect,so avoid from them.any site or any programmes which demand some money and give you dream of lot of money after paid registration,it must be a scam,so never involve in such programme.
They will give you nothing but some links and those links will also demand from you money.There programmes look very charming and true as they mention about them,but it is said that human learn from two ways 1. by their own experience when they are scammed 2. by the bitter experiences of others.
So a wise is who learn from others experience.
there are lot of free lancers site where people put their projects,and freelancers bid on them.they are free to register. there are also projects of data entry.you can have a project from there but it requires consistant effort because there are lot of people who wish to win each project.so dont disappoint and try your best .
Second there are skills which are required for a good data entry operator,
you typing speed is main skill which is required.
general computer and internet skill is also required/
