Are movies made in your city? If you saw them being made what would you do?

The downtown area of my city has been used as the background for many movies... I watched the actors and other people on the set from a safe distance.
Wondering if movies are made in your area?
If so, have you watched it, participated in it, attempted to avoid it, or what?

I live in the country in New York so I don't think anybody would make a movie here. I do remember a couple of years ago a movie was filming in Buffalo which is about an hour away. I wanted to go up and check it out, but couldn't. I probably would have done what you did and watched from a distance. If I got interested enough I may have gone closer, but it's more my style to hang back a bit.

I remember when Big Fish was being shot in Alabama, right around the time I still lived there. My husband was going to be in it, but we ended up moving away before they shot his scene. For the longest time we avoided that movie as though it was the plague. Mostly to avoid seeing certain people that were supposedly in it. But I ended up catching it on my own and found that all the people we were afraid to see, weren't even there. It was a fantastic movie and I loved every moment of it. My only regret was never getting the chance to participate, or for my husband to participate.

I live in a beautiful hillstation.many movies are bieng made here.Earlier I always used to stop by and watch it.the process of shooting the scenes over and over again is quite boring.I stop by just to have a glance of the stars if the are the real popular ones.

Hi,
Some of the Indian Movies have been shot in Delhi and continue to be shot . However; If there are big stars during these shoots, the Areas are kind of being cordoned off or there is so much police that people can only view the Movie Stars from a long distance .
As for me ,I have not so far any shooting in my city .

I grew up in Los Angeles. Sometimes you'd see them taking outdoor shots for a movie or tv show. I guess we Angelinos have a somewhat different attitude towards movies than most other people. For us it's just an industry. I seriously doubt any Angelino would be starstruck if they bumped into an actor.
Actually it's quite irritating if they set up roadblocks on a street that you need to access. The only thing you can do is wait till they are done. Or try driving a few blocks out of your way.

It is true that up there, there is a tendency to take the actors for granted and to see them filming as just one more traffic delay. Down South, in the City of Orange, there is less filming and it is usually done in the old traffic circle near Watsons or near some of the other buildings in the downtown area. They usually do a good job of preventing problems. Down in Santa Ana, the old courthouse building also is used... It is not as bad here as it is in Los Angeles with the traffic. Thanks for posting here.

unfortunately :( I dont know how i would react if it happens near our home. Maybe Id like to get a peek of the actors/actress and observe the background or behind-the-scenes activities. But if my fav actor is part of the movie, im not sure but i think id like to try to take his picture. Im shy you know heheh.

Parts of "Waterboy" were filmed in my city and in 2 cities North from me. The part where Adam Sandler WAS the waterboy in the beginning of the movie, in his fishing gear was filmed in the city N of me. I was there and watched it be filmed. In fact, I am in it. But its hard to describe the point where you can see me, because the filed itself is down in a bowl. I was on top of the hill. Anyway, I was standing there watching with two other guys (i didn't know them, they were already there when I got there) when one yells (during a break in filming of course) "Hey Adam, How about an autograph?" I couldn't believe it... Adam ran all the way up the hill to give us an autograph! He was such a nice guy! Then, we walked around to where the stars' trailers were, and caugh Henry Winkler coming out of the tunnel from where they were filming. Me... like an idiot.. like the man doesn't know is last name... said "hey Henry Winkler, how bout and autograph?" HE was p!ssed that we were there (we stepped over the tape blocking the public), I touched his arm and giggled (I FLIRTED WITH THE FONZ!! ) He did give all three of us an autograph. It was a fun day!
Some of the swamp parts were filmed in the marina in my city, but I didn't get as close as I wanted. I DID catch another glimpse of Henry and Adam

Congratulations on getting those autographs... Thanks for posting about your experiences. It is good to know that Adam Sandler and Henry Winkler were kind enough to give autographs and that Adam Sandler was kind enough to go out of his way to do it.

I was shocked when they filmed some of the final season of the Sopranos so close to my house. I knew that they usually filmed in Jersey, but it was usually over thirty minutes away from. Not last year. My mom told me she was on her way to work and the traffic was terrible because people were slowing down to see the action. She said that they had those huge movie lights at a gas station, which they changed the name of for the episode. I've only seen a couple of episodes of the Sopranos, but I've seen plenty of scenes that I recognized.

It must have been interesting to see places that you knew on the screen for the Sopranos. Thanks for sharing about it.
