Is there such a thing as cruelty to bugs just like there is cruelty to animals?

I dont think so and I dont care too much for flies or things that are a pest or have no use in our evolution but I do feel bad when insects that are harmless are killed likelady beetles or grasshoppers etc.

all animals and insects have a use in the evolution. That kind of thinking is why some animals have become extinct.

In the legal sense, not that I know of. In the real world sense, of course. I have never been what I would call cruel to insects (pulling off wings, legs, burning with magnifying glasses, etc), but once when I was younger I found myself enjoying swatting flies a little too much, and stopped killing any insects for years. Now I will kill the occasional mosquito that is trying to suck my blood.

Personally I think it is cruel to harm any form of life.

Hi hilproz, welcome to mylot and have a happy stay here. I think that all is cruelty no matter what kind of life you are kill or torture. We all (of all sorts)share the same planet so we need to respect all lifes that live here. cheers

Well, I think it's cruel to squish a lady bug, and a mosquitoe hawk. I'm not to big on killing spiders if they're outside, they take care of nastier critters like horse flies, mosquitoes and stuff that can be harmful to people and animals. I kind of pick my battles when it comes to insects. A fly of any kind is toast in my book. They land on poop then want to wallow on my fried chicken, I think not. Roaches are another digusting bug. They will eat anything including paper. They are as nasty as a fly in my book. I think the most surprizing thing I saw in the insect world was watching a butterfly feed on dog and goose poop, I kid you not. But I wouldn't intentially kill a butterfly.

I don't think enough PETA members think flies are cute enough to save from having their wings and legs torn off by a mean child, or any ant cute enough to rescue from the magnifying glass of another child.
