Hi All I used to budget but do not now. I have learned to only spend what I have to to get by and I have become a frugal spender so I don't really map it all out. What about you? http://www.savingadvice.com/blog/2008/05/21/102134_why-you-dont-want-a-budget.html

I don't budget - mainly because different things come up that you haven't budgeted for and blows the whole thing out of the water! xxxx

I don't really budget in the classic sense of setting aside XX amount of dollars for specific things. And the reason is because I have no money to do that with. Here, I just get what I absolutely can't live without each month and that's all I can get. So I don't consider that real budgeting though it is real frugal living! :-)

i used to budget my allowance when i was attending college. i think i tried keeping track of my expenses for a few months. but i stopped because it just made me confused and frustrated when i see how much i spend within only a short time. so just like you, i stopped it and just tried my best to spend on important things and save for the future. i still buy stuffs that aren't necessity but i do my best to limit it.

Not "formally" on paper, and not to the penny. I know pretty much how much I spend and what, if anything, I have extra to work with.

i do have a budget but that's more for cash flow purposes. i don't really budget for every single item. it's more like saving a part of my salary first, then put aside money for the necessary expenditures. the rest will be like spending money where i'll use them on things to make myself happy. it's quite important for me to budget as i'm a real spendthrift. if i don't set aside money i'll most prob spend them all away. i can never become a frugal spender as i like to live for the moment. not that i spend all my money away. but i believe that it's pretty silly to live like a miser and die a wealthy person. :p

Hi raydene! Yes, I do budget. I have to really list down all the essentials and all the bills that have to be paid for the month. I really am trying my best to stick on my budget most of the time but there are those times, that I just can't. haha.. Take Care and God Bless! Happy Mylotting!

I don't do a physical budget anymore, although I used to. What I do is make sure all my bills are paid before I am free to spend on anything "extra." I have a friend who is forever having her phone and internet cut off. I've tried to tell her to make sure her bills are paid first, but she just does not get it. I don't have credit cards and if I want something more expensive, I save for it. The exception to that is my car and house. Neither are paid for, but my payments are all on time and made each month.

I sort of budget. I have all my household bills set up to pay automatically out of one account. Each month I have enough paid into it to pay these plus a little extra for unseen emergencies. What's left is what I have to buy food, fuel and anything else.

We are in the process of getting back on a budget. I'll be honest with you. We don't have enough money right now to pay all our bills (why I'm on myLot hoping to make enough for groceries at least). Once we are able to relocate, the gas expense will go down, and we will be in a much better position to get back no our budget and stick to it. We don't have extra money to spend on things we shouldn't.. as it's just not there. We are in "survival mode".. which I'm finding a lot of people are with the price of gas. With relocating, we would save 6-7 hours of drive time each week. That would work out to be about $50-60 a week in gas. That's huge!

we dont budget persay (in the sense of writing everything down), but we do watch what we buy and are very careful what we buy as well as deciding if we really need it when we do go shopping (no impulse buying for us!!!)

Hi raydene, ineresting name. I don't think i would ever budget, because I never would stick to it. i don't like people telling me what to do, even if it's myself. If I want to save or spend less money,I simply reduce my spending.

That's my problem I don;t know how to budget. I just estimate that my money would be stretched out to the next pay day that was the time when I was working. Now that my husband was the only one working, he managed the budget and everything. I just figure out what we need in the house and we both go to the market and buy the things we need. we have no specific budget of how much we are going to spend. I wish I would be able to make a budget so that we can save.
