Does your head hurt if you don't get caffiene first thing in the morning?

This morning when I woke up, I decided to wait awhile before getting my cup of morning tea. I used to be a big coffee drinker, but had to cut back. Tea's healthier for me anyway. Sometimtes I wonder how I can actually live without coffee, but I do! LOL! Anyway, it didn't take long for my caffiene headache to kick in. At first I blamed the poor lighting, but then I realized that my body was trying to send me a message. I've heard that some headaches are a symtom of caffiene withdrawals. And, that you should step it down gradually if you plan to quit. So, I'm out of here to go get a cup of happiness. Do you ever feel bad if you don't get your cup of caffiene in the morning? Please share your love for everything caffienated.

Not only do I get one of the most horrible headaches, I'm not human before coffee. I used to drink POTS of coffe all day long. I've weened myself down to 2 cups. It is imparitive that you do this slowly or you and everyone around you are miserable. LOL. Someday, I'll decide to be caffine free and be healthier for it. On a side note, tea actually has more caffine in it than coffee unless its herbal tea. I find that sometimes when I'm craving coffe that any hot beverage will satisfy.

I'm always contemplating making the change to a caffiene free life. I've heard it's easier to keep weight off when a person doesn't drink caffiene beverages. That would be a real bonus for me.

Hi everyone! Im a heavy coffee drinker but I didint have the same experiences that you encounter regarding headaches if you cant take coffee when you wake up in the morning. I think you maybe not getting a good nite sleep or you have a bad sleep thus, when you wake up in the morning you have a headache. If you sleep late in the nite say past 12midnite for sure you will have a lousy sleep and for sure you will have headache in the morning. I think coffee has nothing to do with it. So enjoy your coffee.

I cut way back on my caffeine consumption while I was pregnant with my son. More and more caffeine started slowly creeping back in after I stopped nursing him, though. Now I'm up to about 1 caffeinated beverage every other day. If I go more than 2-3 days without one, I get headaches that turn into migraines if I don't drink something with caffeine in it. The worst thing about this is that I have a sensitivity to artificial sweeteners. They make me feel horrible. I'm also trying to cut back on the amount of sugar I take in, and soda is my caffeine of choice. If I indulge in a soda, I really have to watch the amount of sugar I eat for the rest of the day!

I'm there with you on the sugar issue. I feel drained and irritable when I have anything with sugar. So, I have to drink bitter tea. It's not so bad after years of having it. It serves a purpose. Sometimes I can get away with using honey instead of sugar. It doesn't make me feel so drained. I'm so impressed that you can go so long without caffiene. I wish I could. I'm not sleeping well, so it's a real struggle, just to stay awake during the day. I keep busy mostly. That works sometimes better than caffiene, for me.

I do not get a headache right away in the morning. I go through caffeine withdrawal if I do not have it for more than 24 hours. It is a headache that no amount of pain killers will get rid of. The only thing that makes it go away is caffeine.

I used to drink a glass of coffee every morning but the effect of caffeine in my body if I miss to drink coffee is not evident. I dont feel any headache or whatever. Maybe because I put only little coffee in it and more coffee mate. I remember years ago, I became dependent or addicted to chocolates. I ate everyday before I sleep and when I woke up in the morning. I know chocolates have caffeine and I think I consumed more than required already thats why I suffered from migraine that time. There and then I stop eating chocolates..

Oooooo, you're making me break my own heart here beautyqueen because I have to stay away from caffine and, most especially, coffee. I developed a very sensative stomach last year and I pay a heft price for a nice, hot, creamy cup of coffee. Yummmmmmmm! I used to like just about any coffee drink and especially iced coffee in the afternoons. When I first cut out coffee I had a headache for about four days and I'm certain it was because my brain was screaming for coffee!!

If I didn't get my caffiene occasionally, I'd be doing the same thing as the little smiley guy. I'd totally be sleeping. I really do feel sympathy for you with the no caffiene thing. When I was pregnant (and for awhile afterwards) I had to totally cut out all caffiene, including cola and such. That was tough. But, it was totally worth it.

I do get a headache, if I don't have my coffee. My husband drinks alot of Mountain Dew, which I know is not good for him, but if he does not have one in the morning, he gets really sick. Coffee is my biggest caffiene fix.

Im a BAD pepsi drinker. Here lately it has been about the only thing I drink. I throw a glass of tea in sometimes. But not very often. Im trying to lose weight and I know if I dont stop with all of the pepsi it isnt going to happen. I tried to quit drinking a while back...but got the darn headaches. And they werent just little puney headaches the were full blown migrains. So then I limited myself to two a day. That seemed to work for a while...then I started craving more and mocre and have started drinking more and more. Water really should be my friend...its just not. *sigh*

The only time I really feel the effects of not getting any caffeine are close to the end of the day when I'm starting to get stressed, people are getting on my nerves and I've had a long day. Then I start to feel it. Usually after I drink a can of soda I start feeling better. I hate how addictive caffeine is.

Hello beautyqueen26, I am not really a coffee drinker. But I must have a cup of tea every morning before I start my work. I have tried a cup of caffeine in the morning few times and the result - a headache right after I finished up my caffeinated drink.

I really know what you mean, the same thing happened to me yesterday. I woke up and I sit behind the computer immediately because I wanted to see what did people respond to my discussions and I kept writing for about an hour. I didnt even think about coffee...well, honestly I did but I was so into writing here that I really didn't feel like getting up and making some coffee. Than after almost 2 hours I felt not really strong pain in my head, but I still did make any coffee. Few minutes after that the headache got even worst so I made myself a really strong cup of coffee and I thought the headache would go away but it didn't and after 2 more hours it got so bad that I had to take a pill because I couldn't stand it. I would really like to stop drinking coffee, I even tried the tea but it didn't help. My sister was drinkink coffee for several years and then once when she was really sick and had a food poisoning she didn't drink it for several days and after that she never had a cup of coffee again. She said that it was different for her because as she had food poisoning she felt so sick that she wasn't even paying attention to the headache and even when she did she couldn't even imagine taking anything else but plain water. So the headaches passed and now she is free of caffiene addiction. Lucky her!

My day cannot officially begin without a cup of coffee and yes I am prone to the headache if I refrain from the caffiene. I can drink coffee all day long and usually have a diet coke sitting on the desk next to my favorite coffee mug too.

Hi, I totally get a headache if I do not have my coffee in the morning. In fact, if I do not have it by 6:00 a.m. I will be miserable for the rest of the day. Also, when I get home from work I always have to have a diet coke. Likewise, if I dont have my coke at a regular time I will get a headache again. Very annoying :) cheers,
