What can be done for post chicken pox itch?

A friend of mine got rid of her chicken pox. But her urge to itch the scars is the same as before. Someone told her applying "cold wated mixed with baking soda" compressees helps decrease the itch. What do u think about the baking soda compress? Do u have any other home remedey for the same?

A paste made oatmeal mixed with water. A bath in water mixed with oatmeal.
