I have a 2006 Toyota Corolla LE and I want to trade it in...for a similiar car but with lower car payments. I owe about 12,000 on my car and I'm clueless on how to do this. I can get some guidance from the search engine but I was wondering if any one knew of some insider tips. Thanks

If I were you, have your car appraised by CARMAX already, this way, you already have an idea on how much you car is worth in the current economy. If you have the quote with you, go to the dealership that has the great promotion on the time that you will trade your new car. Let them tell you first their quote and if it is higher than the CARMAX quote, get that one, if not, present to them the quote from CARMAX and ask if they could match it. If not, then look for another dealership. With the way car sales are going down, car dealers will give you what you ask for since they have a lot of unsold cars. Make sure to bargain. Even your APR, if you have a good credit score, bargain for a lower one. Most of the dealership now are also offering ZERO DOWNPAYMENT. If you could get this plus a low APR, then it would be a good deal for you.
