Why is there a scratchy noise coming out of my speakers? Help!!!

when i turned my pc and all the noise coming from it was scratchy, to the point where i can't hear anythingcoming out. I keep trying to work with it but it goes in and out. I went through the trouble shooting guide for my Compac presario notebook to no avail.
Help?

Your speakers are probably blown. That happened to me with my computer. It cost me some money. Take it to a computer place and see what they say.
