My oldest two slept through the night when they were around four months old. My baby is only two months old and he eats at 10 PM and then wakes up to eat around 3AM and then 6AM. I've never minded getting up to feed a baby, but I'm starting to get tired. When did your children start sleeping through the night?

Mine slept through the night at 10 weeks old for the first time and then sometimes did and sometimes didn't until twelve months when he started sleeping through the night pretty regularly. I had a co-sleeper though. He slept right next to my bed and when he woke up I just pulled him over into bed with me and nursed him. Then put him back and went back to sleep. I never actually "got up" with the baby and he never had to cry, so he went back to sleep quickly. Once he was sleeping through the night regularly I was able to transition him to his crib in his room. He was used to the crib because he was put down for naps in it. Some people say don't put the baby in the bed with you because of horror stories about people falling asleep and suffocating the baby, but parents all over the world sleep with their children. I wasn't a heavy sleeper, didn't drink or take meds (of course, I was nursing), and wasn't overweight. I felt that it was the best for both of us. Very little babies thrive when close to their mothers because they had a symbiotic relationship with her for 9 months, afterall.

my oldest was an angel. she started sleeping through the night at 2 months old. then her sister came along. she didn't sleep through the night till around a year old. she would usually get up around 2 am. now i'm on my third. he's 10 months old. he has had an odd night or two where he's slept all night, but since he started teething, forget it. he falls asleep around 9, gets up at 11, 1, 3 and 5. some nights its 12 and 4 and then 6 lol. he likes to vary it to keep me guessing. so i know how you feel. good luck, i hope your baby sleeps through the night soon.

My son started sleeping through the night at around one month. I'm not sure how I got such an awesome child but I think it was the routine I've started for him. Since children can't figure out day and night it is up to the parents to start a routine for them to understand when bedtime is. I tended to feed him around 7 or so and gave him a bath at 8 and he was out at 9pm and didn't wake up till 3-4 since infants are so tiny young and well need to eat it is normal for them to wake up every so often. Your baby seems to be quite on track eating as much as he needs. I am sorry you are so tired and hopefully he'll sleep well for you soon! I know how it feels to not get sleep, my son is going on a growth spurt for a few days now making him wake up a little more often than he normally does.

I think by 6 months they were all sleeping through the night. My daughter was the first one to sleep through the night after about 3 months. She is the one that still falls asleep early and wakes up early.

My oldest son started sleeping through the night at around 6 weeks, right after I switched him to formula. My youngest son started at around 8 weeks. That's when I started giving him more to eat before he went to bed. We also made sure they slept in their own rooms from day 1 and I think that helped a lot.
