Ok let me start by start by saying my oldest son will be in the fifth grade next year. and in the fifth grade they are going to be switching classes. (having more than one teacher). my daughter is going to be in the third grade next year and I found out today that starting in the third grade, they are going to be switching classes. They are going to have atleast four teachers. I think this is too young for them to start switching classes. I understand they have to learn, and i'm all for them doing it in the fifth grade. (preparing them for junior high), but the first grade, they still have a hard time staying focused. what do you think???

Actually, when my daughter was in third grade (6 years ago), they switched classes for four of the subjects during the day. Each teacher was able to give more specialized help because that was the subject he/she focused on with all the kids.
Just a question for you...do your kids, in elementary school, have different teachers for music? For P.E.? What is the difference, really, between that and what your school is going to do?

Well,i want to say children are still children. It is their nature they can not stay focused. So i agree with you that they should`nt attend switching too young. You`d better discuss with the school and fine a way.
