Watching Cricket from the stands

There is much difference when you watch cricket from the stands and the one in your home T.V. I and my brother-in-law had been to watch cricket match between CSK and RCB. We went to see the fireworks of Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan. As you had it almost the whole of the people in the stands had come to see the fireworks of Vidyut. When Patel and Fleming were batting we all wanted someone of them to get out and Vidyut to come in. So confident were we that Vidyut one handed can finish the match. When we saw this Dhoni entering one down we started booing him down. His defensive batting was boo.. booed by us. What sort of Captain he is.. he has not understanding the feelings of the spectators. We have come all along wasting our time and money just to watch our favourites not the out-of-form Dhoni there in the middle. But to our utter-shock this Dhoni enters and then the hara-kiri follows. Everybody in the stands knew immediately that Vidyut may be very much upset by not being sent one down. And as expected he came as a tailender and was out for a duck. It was frustration of coming as a tailender that he threw his wicket, we can know this from the stands. We did not have chappals to throw on Dhoni if he had we would thrown it on him. The worst captain we came across on that day. Our day was wasted with our favourite stars not allowed to do their job. As in ICL matches someone like Satish should lead Chennai team in the future of IPL tournaments and not the one like Dhoni, who is selfish and without head. He is the sole cause for the defeat of Chennai team against Bangalore team the neighbouring state. Kudos to Dravid for his fine batting and score of 47 out of 39 balls. We were all very much impressed by the sportsmenship that Goswamy exhibited when he went out after knicking a Gony delivery. How many nowadays are we seeing walking away if not given out. Here is a young cricketer who has shown that he likes to play truthfully and make runs and not with luck from umpires wrong decisions. If Goswami had not walked off the field he might have contributed more runs and maybe RCB would have made 150 runs on the board. Then probably CSK would have won the match playing more seriously and Vidyut coming one down or even opening the innings. Truth wins eh..

Though i can understand you emotions i do not support you completly. As a captain he knows what is best for the team and that should be the spirit of a captain. Them wants to win and just dont want to see one of your fav player perform. Cricket is a game of uncertainities and i dont think this is a big issue. Even Vidut could have got out duct if he had sent earlier. So lets support the game and not just individual selfish players.

Do you understand captaincy in a cricket match. What did Dhoni did wrong. When a player comes out one below or above is because that player ask for that position. Cricket is a Team effort not a one man show like boxing. Yes it is more intriguing to watch cricket at the stadium. You have the energy of the full fans. Judging by your writing it seems that you enjoy every ball that was bowled and the only disappointment was Vidyut coming down at the position he did and scoring a duck. Whether you bat at number one or number 11 it is your duty to bat good when the time arise. Sometimes cricketer are injury and they do not make their fans know this then the captain get blame. My friend always watch cricket with an open mind. Remember it is bat against ball. There are googly ball that is good and there are loose ball that the batsman can lick for six. There are good days and there are bad days for a cricketer. Don't blame Dhoni. I have seen him perform and he is a good wicket keeper, and batsman as well as a good captain. Remember that India season that he captain and they went against the odds and win. Cricket is a game of uncertainty but it is an enjoyable one. I Love Cricket it is my favourite sport. Continue to enjoy this IPL season and I hope the best team win.
