How much does a website cost.

I have an idea for a website. However, i want this to be professionally designed and done. My question is how much would a "good" or "decent" web site cost? This is in terms of having someone else design, maintain and host your site including domain registration. Thanks for anyone who can help me out here I need numbers or price ranges ... :)
