Ok with gas prices forever on the rise (it has jumped 16 cents in less than 2 weeks here) will more people start shopping on the internet? That would be great for those of us who sell on the internet. I already do most of my supply shopping for my crafts online when I can. So what do you think?

I do think that it will if the shipping doesn't get too crazy.

I absolutely agree...I surf Ebay for one of my main craft supplies and I buy some of my glass beads online (the rest of supplies I get on my lunch hour at work- both AC Moore and Michaels are less than a mile down the road-Plus I love their weekly coupons!) I also have a Costco and WalMart all within a mile of the craft stores, so I go once a week, after work to save on gas. I do order alot of things online now...some of the deals are great! I just ordered ink for my printer, paid less than what WalMart sells it for and received free shipping (plus a 14% cash back incentive) The same thing happened when I bought sneakers last month, the company (skechers) sold the sneakers online for less than the nearest shoe store (which didn't have the exact sneakers in stock when I called) plus they were offering a 10% discount and free shipping (and once again, a cash back incentive) I think many people, including myself will look to save both gas and money by becoming savvy online shoppers for the rest of this year and maybe for many years to come. I expect the wiser companies to begin coming up with ways to attract online shoppers and gain customers new to online shopping! I sent you a friend request, if you'd like to learn about how I get cash back when I shop online...it's FREE and so easy to do. I wish I knew about it last year during the holidays : )

well you see even to transport the item you bought you need yo use gas, therefore the companies will charge more. If companies can find ways to gain economies of scale for internet shoppers, then there won't be a problem for consumers. Even to get the goods to the stores or ware houses the things need to be shipped automatically you need gas again. The problem of high gas prices affects every one in some way. There is no way of escaping this crisis. We have become to reliant on oil.
