Do you belong your your local freecycle? If not go to http://freecycle.org and sign up. What is freecycle you might ask?
The Freecycle Network is made up of 4,380 groups with 5,161,000 members across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (&getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderator by a local volunteer. Membership is free.
Freecycle is a great way to get rid of stuff when you are declutting. I have given away a piano, clothing, household items, and a lot more. I have gotten yarn, a gas grill, exercise equipment, clothes, and who knows what else. Oh, and someone on our group gave away a car!
Join us at freecycle and help reduce the amount of good stuff going to the landfills.

I belong to 4 Freecycle groups. In that amount, also includes the Freecycle that I run for my local community. I love the idea of Freecycle and have been a member in groups since 2004.

So far so good, I have not requested anything and probably will not, but have had good luck giving away things.

Oh, I belong to many freecycle groups, 4 to be precise. The two local ones and two that were close to where I used to work, but frequently visit. I've gotten some really nice things from freecycle. I think it's a brilliant idea, and a great way to keep things out of the landfills. I only wish that I was the one that came up with this brilliant idea. Everyone should belong to freecycle!!!

I LOVE freecycle!
I was a member in MN and NC and received many wonderful gifts that others were done with, and gave them a new life. I haven't had much to give away myself, but I did offer some flowers that I needed to thin out, and even some horse manure! One gentleman that lived less than a mile away jumped all over that one, as he was starting his business of worm farming, LOL.
I'm still a member since moving here to Ohio, but I haven't given or received anything yet. Oh wait, that's not true. I was able to borrow a cat carrier from someone so that I'd be able to get the abandoned kittens we found to the vet.
