SHHH...The Windows Are Open...

With warm weather arriving, we’ve been leaving our windows open to let the air in. Since we live in apartments we try to watch some of what we talk about b/c we do have neighbors. Sometimes Hubby and I will start discussing MyLot topics and we get a little rambunctious and we have to remember the windows are open. After all we don’t want everyone in the neighborhood knowing everything we talk about. We also tend to close our bedroom window at night in case we get a little too frisky…we don’t want anyone setting up a chair outside the window to listen to our bedroom adventures.
Do you watch what you say when your windows are open? Do you close them in your bedroom for privacy? Have you ever caught anyone listening in on your discussions through a window?

We never did care what others heard while we talked with windows open. Now that we have our own property and it's pretty private, I even leave my bedroom windows open while I sleep or even dress being noone will know unless they purposely walk by our window.

OMG--- how funny.... a little frisky!
I live in the country- so if someone wanted to listen to any of our conversations- they would have to get past the dog! Also- our neighbors aren't close enough to hear us. So nope--- I don't bother talking softly.
Our bedrooms are on the second floor of our house-- so there is no way anyone outside could hear us getting a bit frisky!
I love the country!

No I don't watch what I say when the windows are open. i am single so I don't have anyone to get frisky with. The only thing that the neighbors may not like is when I watch the hockey playoffs I will say a four leter word If I need to.

This discussion makes me laugh. It reminds me of my aunt. She will call me on the telephone and whisper about her neighbors in her apartment building. I can hardly hear what she is saying and if I do not respond when I am suppose to, she gets an attitude.
There have been many, many times when I have entertained my neighbors. Especially, when I lose my temper, but I am working on that.

i don't worry about it,i'm on the upper floor.
they'd have to use a ladder to listen in,and if they do i'll push it away from the house on them

I have a mental picture of that one in my mind. People at the top of the ladder and listening, and you pushing it away "AAAaaaaaaaaaah!!!" Crash. I am would be entertained by that today.

Hi,
You are right, the weather is getting warmer and with that comes benefits and new things to watch for. One of those things is people listening in on conversations. I have caught my neigbours doing this a number of times actually. It is quite annoying! There really is not much choice however as it is too hot to keep the windows closed. We have started talking quietly, but that kinda makes me annoyed that I have to do that!
cheers,

Thankfully my neighbors aren't that close.. But still, even though I don't close our bedroom windows when it's warm, I do pull closed the curtains, what with this modern age of possible digital peeping toms.. and all things turning up on youtube.. I mean how horrifically embarassing would that be!

I am fortunate enough to be in a house, in a quiet neighborhood for the most part. When by neighbor built a new hot tub on his back porch, I did have hubby suggest he screen it, cause from our upstairs we could see him with his girlfriend. Our bedroom is upstairs, the other houses around are single story, so we leave the windows open. It saves on air conditioning. I tend to hear things people do, they probably do not hear me.

I'm not the kind of person who cares what the neighbours hear, though I don't go out of my way to make sure they hear either! lol.
I am who I am, and I'm not going to be ashamed of my thoughts and feelings. If they are offended by them, then it isn't really my problem. Just means they have a different point of view.
As for the windows in the bedroom. Well, ours do stay closed, but mostly because I don't like to have 8 legged uninvited guests in my bed! lol.

I have worried about this before, too. In my old apartment I used to record music and sometimes have the winodws open and would wonder what the neighbors thought!
Now that our neighbors where we live now are constantly outside and so are we, it seems like we have zero privacy, since most times my kids tend to talk pretty loudly and i know if we can hear them surely they can hear us!

We don't open our windows too much but, sometimes and, I never really thought about the possibility of someone hearing our conversations through them. LOL! So, we have not been careful!
But, when the hubby and I lived in an apartment, our back neighbor, they were town homes, was standing outside of our screened in porch watching me while I was watching TV. They hubby caught him. When they first moved in behind us, they asked us if they could use the space outside of our porch to plant some veggies. The space outside of their porch was smaller so, it was just better for them to use our space. We were ok with it because we weren't going to do anything with it. We didn't know that the dude was a peeping Tom. Ugh! LOL! Taught us a lesson!

Since we don't have any neighbors to close to us, we generally don't close our windows. Then again, we're not really crazy loud people either. We're pretty quiet and keep to ourselves so I do not think we'd end up disturbing anyone. At school, we have an apartment and we sometimes open our windows but I still do not feel we're really that loud. Our neighbors this past school year were, they were loud without the windows being open. We had more problems with outside influences than from us being loud.

Lol Don't want to worry the neighbors. lol
We have very few open window days where I live. It is either really hot or too cold. But the days we do have in early spring or late fall are very pleasant with the windows open. I worry more about my dogs barking too much and annoying people than I do about what I say. Even though houses are kinda close in my neighborhood, I don't think my neighbor could hear a conversation I was having unless they were up to no good.

There is nothing wrong with a little fresh air. When you can open the window do it. Most people have ac and don't open the windows at all. Cause of ac&heat all year round sometimes they forget that fresh are on a nice cool; but not to hot day is just as good as the ac.

Where's I live on the first floor and I have the window's open I do watch what is said. I have had a couple of friends get loud and I remind them that other people live in this building to and I don't want to get in trouble w/ the landlord or have others hear what we are talking about for it's none of there buisness. As far as I know no one has been eaves dropping at my window plus my cat would act up if someone was there he useally does when the kids are playing on the front lawn right out side my window. They haven't been close to my window unless to grab there ball that they play wiffle ball every day. I also will periodically look out to see what's going on outside.
