this is a tricky question.
when you talk about nfs these day.you only talk about underground, mostwanter and carbon.what about the oldies???among the oldies need for speed:porsche unleasehd was the best.it was such a realisic game and was soo much fun.the graphics was awesome.the gameplay..very realisitc..overall it was one nice pack.but then UNDERGROUND actually blew stuff up.it was designed after the amazing movie FAST AND THE FURIOUS which was on street racers.underground 1 was very populat those day's and the onine mode was awesome..the underground 2 introduced FREE ROAM..thich is the best part of the game.underground 2 had a lot of features. But NFS mostwanted was the best game ever..the grapchics is mindblowing and u can just play again and again and again.the storyline is incredibe and the sound amazing.there was LAN play and ONLINE play...which was cool.Carbon was too short..and prostreet was too hard to play(alothough very realistic!)...
But i feel the next nfs which is going to come is going to be the best.they are going to learn from their mistake what they did in prostreet..
Currently mosntwanter is great..but i also like underground..cuz it has a lot of features!

most wanted is good for police chases and carbon is good in every category. I like the drifting in carbon

Most wanted is the best since it has less pc requierments and has a gr8 gameplay
i also liek carbon but it has some glitches which cannot be corrected.
MOSt WANTED rules all of them,.

I liked the oldschool NFS Underground 2. Everything was done so well in that game, and I especially liked the drifting.
