check engine light removed

I just tried to get my 2005 focus inspected and was told that the check engine light was not functioning. Is there a fuse that goes to this light or do I have to pull the whole dash out to replace the bulb?

sorry for the news but the chances are,that the light was on and someone remove the bulb,or maybe the bulb is burned out,have seen people get tried of looking at that bulb and remove it,instead of getting the car fixx as dum as it sounds.i been in this buisness for 20 years,seen alot of crazy stuff.

I would try to consult a manual that pertains to your ford focus before trying anything. If someone responds to this then you might want to see if you can see what they are saying is logical or you might risk damaging your car.
