I have read the book and watched the movie. I have to say that I thought the book was very good and interesting. I normally get a bit worried when a book is that hyped as it was when it came out, because then you have high expectations that doesn't always come true. In this case I read the book a while after the hype and I thought it was brilliant. I have also been in the Louvre before so I could think myself back there and that was great too.
I like that the book explains everything so thoroughly that you can actually believe that there is a bit of truth to the story!
When it comes to the movie, I thought it was a bit to much "action" and to little "drama". It was more about carchases, than the riddle! I guess the movie wasn't bad as an action movie, but left a bit to ask in regards to following the book!
If you like Dan Brown you should absolutely read his "Digital Fortress". This book is in my opinion even better and more interesting than the Da Vinci Code!

Thanks you for your insight Emiese,
Yes I've read all books of Dan Brown, and Digital Fortress actually is my favorite among them. Angels and Demons is actually the first part before the Da Vinci Code. And after digital Fortress, the release of deception Point, which is a different story, but almost the same genre or theme as Digital Fortress.
Back to Da Vinci, I agree with you, I think the book is far better than the movie.

Yes, its awesome. Da Vinci is just a continuation of Robert Langdon's adventures, although the story is a different one.
I recommend you read the two others, Digital Fortress and Deception Point.
Thanks you for your response doctorgenius.

Yeah I saw the movie and I read the book too. But I think that I like the book better. The movie was okay I guess but the movie kind of turned me off a little bit. The book was better at describing what was happening. But I think that the actors in the movie did a great job. I heard that they are going to make the movie of Angels and Demons next. I can' wait till that comes out.

I loved the book. I also liked the movie. I know when the movie came out, soooo many people were saying how bad it was. I didn't think so. Anytime a book is converted to the big screen, there are going to be differences and I'm ok with that. I do love the book much more, but the movie wasn't THAT bad.
I also really liked 'Angels & Demons'. I really want to read Deception Point and Digital Fortress, but haven't gotten the chance yet.

Thanks kel,
Well, for me, I'm not saying that the movie was bad, only that the book is better. Like you, I love the book much more too. Yes you should read the two other books, they're good too. I'm sure you'll enjoy them.

Yeah, I know you didn't necessarily say it was bad, but when the movie came out it seemed like critics and people online were totally against it and saying how bad it was.
Hopefully sometime this summer I will get a chance to read Deception Point and Digital Fortress. They're on my list of books to read =)

I have read the book and i have watched the movie. Seems true to me. There are a lot of proofs about the story. The church have dirty secrets because they want to keep the faith of the people.

Thanks for your response. Yep I agree, the church have dirty secrets, most are even documented. I like the book and the movie, not because I want to antagonize the church but like I always say about it, I see it as a mixture of reality and fiction, that makes it so intriguing.

I was a church person. I went to mass everyday for years. I go to confession every week, not because I always sin but because I just want to share spiritual thoughts with the priest. I studied the bible and I had lots of questions that cannot be answered by priests. They say that Bible is a perfect book. If it is perfect, why is it edited and why there are some missing scriptures, scriptures that was removed by the church priest? They are really keeping something dirty, something that would make the church vanish...

dont be so paronoid...
dan brown just wants you to think that way...
it is such a good way to make money...
write something about releigion and show it to the world...
bang!!!
the whole world is buying the book to see what is all the fuss about...
that is a good marketing strategy...

I have a really good friend who enjoyed the heck out of the book, but it wasn't someting that I was particularly interested in reading. I have no interest in reading something so popular. I try to avoid the latest fads.

I've watched the movie and I've read the book too. It wasn't intriguing for me. Though the author claimed some facts about it, the plot, the climax and the concepts of the story are all based on the author's fictitious mind. Dan Brown actually made a book, what worried me was when his book has started accumulating praises, he started saying that those in the book were facts which is absolutely not true. It is not true and it is not a lie as well. It is just fiction, nothing really to worry about.

When it comes to religion there are alot of things that are not being told and the movie was off the chain. There was things that i didn't even think about until i saw the movie. It made me think that everyone has a blood line and where are their family in this day and time. I did notice something strange; there was things that the church wanted to keep secret and i wondered why would they do something like that. At this day and age when they know that they need to be telling people what is really going on.

I actually haven't read the book yet, but it's been sitting on my bookshelf for as long as I could remember! My boyfriend bought it, and he read it, and loved it by the way. I've only ever seen the movie, and it was great. I will definetly have to move the book up in my TBR pile, since it has been sitting there for so long, and chances are the book is probably better than the movie.
